Intermission 5 Page 5

As she watches Kamau walk ahead, Ricki tries to think of what she can do to help him. He seems unwilling to discuss his past or his feelings about it, so she has no idea what it is he might need. Ricki’s experience revolves around basic things like getting enough food and securing a place to sleep. This is different.
The only thing she can think of for now is to keep her eyes and her mind open to ways that she can show Kamau that, wherever he might come from, he now has a place where he can belong. Ricki is certain she’ll know what she’s looking for when she sees it. Until then, all she can do is be patient. And maybe ask Lara to stop poking at him.
The party continues on to Lohk’s alley in silence.
Oof
🙁
Seems pretty unambiguous – there’s nothing we can do for Kamau yet, but we’ll know when we get the chance. I’m reasonably confident that whatever the breakthrough is will be the same thing to allow progressing further on the Bond track.
We’ve done very well for dungeons, have completed every one, which wasn’t a guarantee especially with how close the Tavern Basement and Chapel were. We missed one bond point on Kamau from Remorse, but that may not matter if we don’t see that opening until after next dungeon. I wonder now if we can fulfill conditions to unlock bond thresholds before reaching that point, where we’d still need to clear enough dungeons together to fill the gauge but we wouldn’t hit a cap. Might make a difference for Macadamia, who we recruited last here in the capital and who could’ve hit his first threshold already if we’d gotten him first.
