Dungeon 3 Turn 27
————
Kamau uses his Interpose ability to protect Ricki while she runs over to the graves.
Ricki picks two of the grave flowers and distributes them among the graves, but finds that the act of picking them severs the roots, making true replanting impossible. She also tries to read the names on the gravestones, but finds that they’ve either been worn down by time or possibly smoothed out by the dungeon.
I got nothin on what to do next other than try the holy water. I don’t think the grave flowers will stop the spawning. With the chandelier down these skellies can’t get out so no reason to stick around and kill them unless anyone else has some ideas.
Kamau: kill an undamaged skeleton
Ricki: with your newfound pope powers, consecrate the graves with the holy water (swap thieves tools with holy water on Kamau)
Skeletons can climb the wooden stand to climb over the chandelier. I propose destroying it after Kamau climbs onto the chandelier.
I doubt the skeletons are smart enough to do that now that the ghoul pope is dead. But that gives me an idea: We could move the lectern to the other side of the chandelier, and maybe it would block the small skeletons too.
EDIT: Dumb idea, what was I thinking? If they can get past it one side of the chandelier, then they can get past it on the other. Never mind 🙂
I would like to try blocking the path under the chandelier with the lectern. I also expect that skeletons won’t be smart enough to climb.
Clearing out these skeletons will be quick and painless, so we might as well do it while we’re here. That will also let us poke around freely at the arrows and see if we can knock down the bow, though it might be a little far from the archer’s skeleton to pull down.
I am also open to saying a prayer over the graves. May they rest in peace.
Re:poking and aiming, I’d like to recall my idea for an aiming experiment 🙂
Kamau lifts Ricky a bit, Ricky tries sniping and the rat, we place bets what happens if the rat is hit (it stays there? runs away? runs towards them and falls and possibly takes damage by falling on chandelier? etc)
If the line of shot is too high to reach on the from far-left, it may be performed easier when standing on the left edge of chandelier.
Ricki: Attack the skeleton you attacked before
Kamau: Attack a new skeleton
Let’s just clear out these skeletons and then go take on the ash skeletons for the rope.
We should use the holy water against them and not the graves. In the beginning it was suggested that ringing the bell at the top will stop the summoning, so that’s probably good enough.
I’d also prefer to pick up the graveflowers, but we lack space unless we drop lockpicks, drink the healing potion, or use the holy water. We can come back down and fetch the stuff later if we have time.
Ah well, it was worth a try. Should we grab (all) the flowers and take them with us for the ashen skeleton fight?
We’d have to leave something currently in our inventory behind (or drink the healing potion), though, in order to have room for them.
Well then, let Kamau drink the healing potion!
We will have a spare action for Kamau while Ricki is finishing off the last skeleton. He can drink the potion then.
I’d rather bring arrows with us than flowers, as it’s the same loot cost (4×2 vs 2×4) and will stack better (EDIT: Flowers are only worth 2, so a stack of 4 arrows is worth twice as much as 2 flowers), plus they won’t be used up. The flowers would be better insurance for taking on the ashen skeletons. They’re just wasted most of the time though, with Kamau one-shotting while taking no damage.
Either way, I’d like to leave the last planted flower as it is. If any of them will prevent spawns, it’s that one, as it is different from just laying a flower on the grave.
Could Ricki please pick up one of the arrows, just to get information about their damage potential, monetary value and weight (in the inventory)? If she needs to set something down for this, so be it. (Take it up again afterwards.)
Let’s do this after we’re done with fighting. It takes an action to interact with items mid battle, but after the fight is over then it’s free.
I think Ricki should attack the same skeleton Kamau is attacking because their combined damage lets Ricki deal damage and the Holy Attack didn’t break through the defenses by itself.
(Please correct and/or downvote me if I’m mistaken/misremembering.)
Edit: Just remembered I think Kamau is OHKOing the Skeletons so ganging up is just overkill. (which is always fun :P) Not deleting this just for the reminder we can do this when it matters.
