Intermission 9 Page 35

“Well, I was just thinking.”
“Since I know you’re probably getting ready for us to head out on our next mission or quest or whatever…”
“There’s actually somewhere I wanted to go.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I think…”
“I think I left something at the temple. You remember, the one from my… story.”
“I want to go back and get it.”
“Okay… is that going to be dangerous?”
“I don’t think so. The fire was huge, I’m pretty sure the place has been abandoned.”
“Realistically the thing I want might not even still be there. Maybe it’s a stupid idea…”
“No, I think it’ll be good for you. We can get some of the others to go with us to make sure it’s safe.”
“I’d prefer not to. I was thinking it would just be us.”
“Oh.”
“Just the two of us?”
“Right.”
“Alone in a dungeon together?”
“…Right?”
“yeahokaysure”
In and out, nice and easy. Definitely no elaborate traps laid out by a horribly scarred and very ticked off drider.
>In and out
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
POV: You’ve built Lara her own bedroom and she’s invited you to her bond dungeon.
Hmm, I had guessed a while back that bond dungeons would be two-character runs, so they don’t figure towards anyone else’s Bond or level ups. We have been told that maxing Bond will be worth our while.
A smaller party would be kind of nice, it’s hard to track when four actions are in play.
A dungeon built for Lara… There’s definitely going to be spiders to Subdue (and this is where Spider Sense would pay off) and at least one great room to Web Wall. Probably some large/small paths to show she can’t do this alone, and some form of lighting to mess with Night Eyes.
It’s also a defiled temple, so Faithless is a risk.
We probably should try to optimize damage output (e.g. Ricki getting swiftblade and Daisy – Lupus Lazuli is slower) in that case, as we got kinda comfortably used to piling our characters onto enemies with many HP.
Since we got no interpose (and no healing, unless we grab a potion or two, or even better yet: a wand of mend to take with us) available, the chars need to have decent defense, too.
Which brings us to the main problem that we are going to face: no space in inventory for loot.
(Lara has 8 slots and Ricki has 11. If we gear out Lara with plate mail and the siege sword, she only has 1 slot left. And that’s probably a worse setup than what gear she has now, because she can’t take advantage of the venomous sword as well as with the robes and the cobra-hood…)
So I’m guessing the other pet needs to be Golly?
At the very least, we will be able to take our pick from the rings we accumulated.
Unfortunately, we don’t even know if we “automatically” have to go to Lara’s bond dungeon now, that it has been offered, or if we got other options and we will only find out -after- we are done with our shopping, most likely.
Fortunately, I think most people are dying to find out what the bond dungeon is about and what other bits of Laras backstory going there we can reveal.
