“Wow, it’s nice in here.”
“Yeah! And it’s real close to the kitchen, and you don’t have to climb a bunch of stairs to get to it.”
“The windows aren’t very big, but you should get lots of light coming through in the morning.”
“There’s no paintings in all these frames yet, but I figured we could pick some up in all the towns we travel to. Or you could pay somebody to paint for you!”
“Oh, and one of the builders has a cousin with only one arm, so he helped me pick out a bunch of tools he said could be helpful for you. There’s some things that help you put clothes on, and some cooking stuff, like a special knife… I didn’t get a chance to learn what they all are before we left, but there’s instructions in the drawer.”
“And what’s with the door leading outside?”
“Oh, well…”
“Sometimes Kamau gets stressed out, you know?”
“Even with his own room, since there’s so many of us living here now, if it gets too noisy or something…”
“I wanted him to feel like it’s okay to step away for a minute.”
“Anyway, I hope you like it, Kamau!”
“Come on Lara, I have something to show you, too!”
“Wait, what?”
Somebody needs a HUG!
(…or lots of space. But I’m a hugger and I kinda would hope Kamau is, too.)
Don’t cry man. ;___;
Sometimes you just need a good cry.
I just hope it’s happy crying.
I hope that’s happy crying
After what Kamau did he knows he doesn’t deserve it.
He may think he doesn’t deserve it, but he’s wrong.
Im melting over this page
Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage:
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage.
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone, that soar above,
Enjoy such liberty.
