“I think it would be a good idea to go check out this caravan situation next. We can help whichever side we decide to help before anything else happens to them, and we can hopefully get more money to spend on renovations.”
“Sounds like a plan to me.”
“And speaking of renovations, why don’t you let me know what I should ask your friends to build for you. Assuming you’re ready to spend some of that money you’re sitting on?”
You can now buy and sell items, order renovations, and select your party and loadout for the next dungeon.
For party : Kamau, Botanya, Lara. We need carry capacity, and we need people that can fight well. Potentially swap out Kamau (Sorry, but his remorse is a bit of a liability) for Maca (Rings). Bring Molly, equipped to Maca. Daisy, equipped to Ricki. Phoenix, equipped to Lara.
And as a side note, I’m still against bringing Cordy into a dungeon that’ll be predominantly human enemies. Especially when we want to rescue one or both of them.
based on discord conversations (credit siv and Sickass) :
Team:
Ricki + Daisy
Kamau + Molly
Botania, no pet
Cordy, to pet
Sell:
Garden Gloves: 2.5 gp
Leather Armor: 8.5 gp
Rat Fang: 5 gp
Oxidicer: 6 gp
Crow Call: 18 gp
1 Arrow: 1 gp
98 gp to spend.
Buy:
Lara Tower: 50 gp , we assume it’s needed to unlock more bond with her.
Chain Armour: 23 gp , for Botania
Paw: 10 gp
Lockpick: 5 gp
Wanted Poster: 10 gp
0 gp leftover.
Botanya and Cordy compete for pet slots and Botanya has terrible offense for non-undead. This doesn’t look workable, because we won’t be able to dish out significant damage and every fight will take forever
we are going to want bring pets when we take Botania with us even without Cordy.
Molly is non-negotiable we have to take her
Daisy is a nice +1dmg on swift blade.
Botania summons 1 fly trap and can refresh it once it dies, or heal Kamau as he is being damaged.
We will also have Shromies for dmg.
Should we be seeing new renovation options on The Manor, like the hinted garden and the rooms mentioned in the dungeon report?
Fixed.
Also the listing for the Rabbit Paw price was wrong and has also now been fixed.
INFO: This is the same as Zuvatans suggestion, with the difference being that we buy Kamaus place instead of Laras (because Kamau has 3 more bond levels until the next cap, Lara has only 1. Also Kamau might lose the bond opportunity if he remorses again, so it makes more sense to me to have more time with him to max out to the next cap. Also, I am still hoping that doing his personal quest will somehow alleviate the whole “remorse” trait a bit).

Edit: apostrophe and spelling error
Used Zuvatan’s post as a baseline since most of it seem sound to me, with all my changes explained in detail at the bottom:
Team/Loadout:
Ricki (Carrying swiftblade, wolf hide armor, magma shield, purse, wand of fireball, lockpick we’re buying, copper aggression ring) + Daisy
Kamau(Carrying plate armor, heavy shield, Kamau’s Hilt, 2 copper rings of def) + Molly
Lara (Carrying bat hide armor, greataxe, 2 copper aggression ring), no pet
Cordy(Carrying helmet, greater healing potion, 2 silver aggression ring), no pet
Remaining items left in Botanya and Mac’s inventory
Sell:
Garden Gloves: 2.5 gp
Leather Armor: 6.5 gp
Rat Fang: 5 gp
Oxidicer: 6 gp
Crow Call: 18 gp
Shield: 10 gp
105 gp to spend.
Buy:
Lara’s Tower: 50 gp
Kamau’s Appartment: 50 gp
Lockpick: 5 gp
0 gp leftover.
Explanations:
-Lara over Botanya:
Botanya’s pets are a lot weaker when not fighting undead which we likely won’t see any of this dungeon. Also, they compete with Cordy’s for slots when Cordy’s are permanent (worth 1 labour each!!) and plenty of organic targets will be available to grow new Little Mushrooms from. Having Lara swinging around the greataxe will offer much more damage which is important as Kamau will be interposing most of the combat turns.
I’d much rather have Botanya make her big debut in the undead dungeon where she can truly shine. She’s the only one not capped on bond, but this doesn’t matter since unless y’all are planning to build her manor room right after this dungeon, her bond can be capped by the time her room is ready even if we don’t bring her here(remember manor renovations apply 1 dungeon AFTER buying them). And I doubt we’ll prioritize her room before Mac’s and Lohk’s.
-Selling a shield:
We currently have 4 shields (2 normal, 1 heavy, 1 magma) when we can only use 3. I think we’ll loot new shields this dungeon anyway. At least one of those guards/bandits gotta be decently equipped, right?
-Not buying chain armor:
We already have 2 fancy hide armors(and plate for Kamau) so we’d be only getting a single defence point for a whooping 23 gold, the hide’s type special bonus AND 1 weight. Doesn’t seem worth it, especially since weight is premium this dungeon.
-Not buying wanted poster:
Eh, I get the idea that we might face a lot of enemies of the same type, but it could also be split up(ex: “thug”, “assassin”, “goon”, “bandit”, etc.) instead of 1. That, plus the fact that it’s limited to a single room convince me this isn’t a priority to buy.
-Buying Kamau’s Appartment
Since we’ve freed up a lot of gold, we can now afford this too. As GathersIngredients stated, his remorse is quite troubling so I believe unlocking his bond is a priority.
-Loadout
Ricki gets the least amount of aggression rings since she has the most utility outside of melee attacking. Helmet on Cordy since that is the only +def equipment he can have since its an accessory.
We shouldn’t sell a shield and we should buy a rope for dungeon traversal. Or we will regret it for the third time in a row.
Buying Kamau’s room is overstretching ourselves. Let’s keep to the paddock
I would agree with you on the rope had we chosen any other dungeon, but a line of wagons sounds like a particularly flat dungeon instead of vertical so I feel like we can buy a rope next dungeon. I’m not saying it’s impossible we’ll encounter something we can’t reach through pushing empty chests and/or Ricky climbing a tower of tall characters, but it does seem far less likely in a merchant caravan than your usual dungeons.
We literally have more shields than we can use since Cordy doesn’t use shields. And I think there’s good odds we’ll get something better than a basic shield soon anyway for the off chance we don’t want to bring our OP p2w character in the future. Our current dungeon tier already has heavy shields as regular chest loot after all.
Overall, getting Kamau’s bond unlocked earlier is more important IMO.
Rope is always useful. I can totally visualize chests on wagon roofs, or hidden behind piles of Oversized Immovable Suitcases.
If we *really* need it we could burn one of Lara’s corruption points to get web-ladders. But Ithink we don’t have to bring rope here
Psst Ricki is a she, not a he. And not spelled with a Y 😉
Yeah, edited, thanks. I know that fact if I think about it, yet somehow this is the 2nd time it slipped my mind when posting. Hopefully I’ll get it right next time.
Actually, I am fairly sure that the 15 gold for the Paw was the price in the LAST intermission and LSN just didn’t update “paws Packs” yet (similar to how he needed a reminder that there should be new options available for the manor) and the price ATM should be 10 gold. We only bought ONE lucky rabbit paw so far, after all, and we used it in the “same” dungeon we bought it for, which -was- the manor. So that bumped up the price to 15, but since we did a full dungeon afterwards, it should be back to 10 gold by now.

EDIT: LSN mentions that the price displayed was wrong and is now fixed (and it’s 10 gold atm):
https://dungeoneyes.com/intermission-7-page-5/#comment-8935
You’re correct, I was basing myself on the displayed price which wasn’t fixed at the time. Removed that part but kept the plan since it doesn’t seem right by voters to change the plan so long after the initial post and I lost enthusiasm for the paw anyway after further thoughts about it, even at 10 gp. (see my comment under Jerf’s plan). Double the bond unlocks just sounds more useful since then.
Why put Molly with kamau and not Lara? Kamau is slow & needed in most combats, so he does not have the time to run around and loot. Molly would imo be much better on Lara, which would allow kamau+cordy to run the mushroom army. Lara can still join there but also be independent if needed, while independent Kamau is …. unreasonable.
I like Molly on Kamau to best take advantage of her abilities. Kamau’s plate armor is by far the heaviest item we have so being able to stow it in Molly as a free action to gain 4 whole slots is great, especially since inventory is premium this dungeon.
I feel like a significant part of our inventory management problems last dungeon was due to us not having the occasion to stow plate on Molly.
Note: I forgot to mention, but if you put the loadout at the end of your text, LSN won’t read it.
Ok, moving it up.
What I ACTUALLY said way back when is that when there’s almost a hundred comments, I skip over the long conversations going on in the replies. I read all the comments otherwise! Especially the ones with lots of upvotes!
I’m upvoting this purely because I want Kamau’s apartment. It’s time to progress some character stories!

Why Lara’s tower over anyone else’s room? She hits her bond cap again in 1 dungeon. Literally anyone else would have more space. Kamau or Lohk would probably be best.
Precisely so we find out what happens when the second cap is reached. A bond dungeon?
Also, wand of fireball on Cordy.
Haven’t seen TNIM posting the final version of your placeholder yet so I’ll just leave my main concerns now since its getting late:
-Why bring Squirrel? Cordy’s pets will likely be stronger and getting extra labor early is most valuable as Jerf put it.
-Why sell an arrow if we’ll have unused gold anyway with this plan?
-Where is the torch you’re having Cordy carry coming from?
The torch comes from me typing this while multitasking. I meant the wand of fireball.
Same for the arrow.
As for squirrel, there is a chance Cordy’s pets won’t be usable without Spored. Just don’t want us to have egg on our faces here if that happens.
I’ll post a corrected version, thank you.
Are we expecting many locks in this dungeon?
Why, yes. One assume the cargo will be on locked chests.

If we summon 4 mushies, then next dungeon they’ll provide 4 labor when we leave them at the manor. Stacking labor every time we bring Cordy, we can rapidly start to purchase manor upgrades
(total gp generated would be 4, 12, 24, 40, etc, assuming we continue bringing Cordy and summoning 4 mushies per trip)
Summoning 3 Mushies per dungeon reduces our total GP generated to 3, 9, 18, 30 — that’s a big hit. 5 would be better, but Daisy + Swiftblade is pretty nice, and once we’ve Spored the party we can probably leave other pets home to increase our labor increment.
Cordy is set up to hit for 6-7 by using his Spore Touch ability, which will hopefully allow us to get those mushies fast. Fingers crossed that Fungal Family buffs him further to start that train rolling. Carrying in the Wand Of Fireball in case we need some extra ranged damage, allowing us to hit Ranged enemies for 9-12 (3+3+3-6) until we run out of arrows & charges for Wand of Fireball.
This leaves us with 15 open ENC for loot before using the consumables/low value items (potion of greater healing, 2 lockpicks, torch, rope), so ~20 open ENC and the ability to loot even more when we’re ready to exit, using Kamau’s enormous inv by swapping all his gear onto Molly for free to maximize his ability to suddenly hold all the things.
This prioritizes unlocking Lara’s bond over Kamau’s because she only requires 1 bond for the next cap, hopefully getting us as much info about advancing bonds as quickly as possible.
By the way, I don’t like Cordy, but the votes were in support of having the super-special mindcontrol fungus, so I guess this is the timeline we’re on. Might as well maximize our gold per dungeon & benefits of the Spored/Fungal Family combo (whatever they are) now that the story is on the fungal express with no way to get off anyway.
Left Behind/Labor Pool: 5 gp
Lohk
Botanya
Daisy
Squirrel
Phoenix
I think a lot of people liked literal Mary Sue less than they liked Mind Control Fungus. At least the latter is funny.
Edited the main post to remove references to the Rabbit Paw after discussion on Discord revolving around how hard it’s going to be. Remember, we sell at 1/4 value, it costs 15, and would spike the price up to 25, so overall, probably not worth it.
You’re only 1 gold short of getting a mammoth. Sell the Oxidicer, one arrow or don’t buy an torch and you can add it.
I really like the idea of 5 labor a dungeon, but perhaps just not this one since we don’t have our spored buffs yet so little mushrooms are much weaker on non-Cordy characters?
I’m not sold on 15 gp Rabbit Paw. Just to break even with non-treasure loot, we’d need to find and bring him 60 gold of extra stuff since we only get 25% with it. A lot of stuff as it will be mostly rusty junk since treasure is likely part of the merchant/bandit quest items and good equipment will be kept. And 60gp would just be a huge waste of actions to break even.
Even if we bring him, say, 80 gp worth, that’s a profit of… 5 gold. For all those actions together. With how turns are at premium with the dungeon time limits, I’d rather spend them doing more of the actual dungeon and just leave the trash behind than scrambling around collecting it all to sell at 25% in hopes of profit.
I’m leaving off Mammoth pen because I think we’re going to want Kamau’s room immediately after this one, and 50 is a big hit. We should definitely buy it ASAP, though, I want a big fuzzy buddy.
Oh, you ninja’d my giant paragraph arguing against paws. I wish this site had live update lol.
Well, you now have 34 leftover gold. I agree Kamau’s room should be gotten ASAP, but don’t you think we can find over 36 gold worth this dungeon?
Probably? Especially as labor starts to chip away at that. As much as I want the Mammoth, though, it might be worth going with the library instead.
Hopefully “gather knowledge” actually does something, and if not, at least we’d get to see what kind of additional upgrades it unlocks (we ironically don’t really need the bonus storage yet)
And from a pure $ perspective I think the Vegetable Patch outclasses the Stable anyway
I don’t understand the layout on Kamau here:
– RoA on Kamau: almost useless as he will interpose most of the time
– Molly & purse on kamau: kamau is slow & needed in most combats, so he dies *not* have the time to run around and loot. Molly would imo be much better on Lara, which would allow kamau+cordy to run the mushroom army.
I’m not going to comment on party/item composition, but here’s what I think we should sell/buy:
First, sell the Gardening Gloves, Double Crossbow, Rat Fang Dagger, Leather Armor, one of our Shields, the Oxidicer, and the Crow Call, which should net us 64 Gold. Combined with our existing supply of 56 Gold, that gives us 120 Gold.
Using 100 of our Gold, we should purchase the Basement Apartment for Kamau and the Covered Balcony for Lohk. Those two characters have relatively high Bond requirements compared to Lara and Macadamia (Kamau=3, Lohk=4, Lara=1, Mac=1), so it’s more important to start leveling Kamau/Lohk’s Bond ASAP.
We can then use the remaining 20 Gold for supplies, although I’m not sure what we’d want to bring to the caravan. It sounds pretty straightforward, so Thieves Tools aside (for merchant chests) I don’t think we’ll need rope or any other ‘utility’ items. We might consider buying healing potions if we don’t take Lohk with us, though, since Botanya can only heal 2/3 times (and that’s assuming that she doesn’t make any of her pets). We also have a free Greater Healing potion we can make use of in addition to that, though.
Alternatively, we could sell another Shield (or a Heavy Shield) for 10-13 extra Gold and buy one of the 30 Gold upgrades that unlock additional upgrades, like the Library or Kitchen, although that would leave us tight on funds for buying any supplies for the caravan dungeon. Some people earlier were saying that the Library sounded like a good idea, for unlocking more magic stuff/bonuses to magic, but since we don’t know what upgrades we’ll get it feels like a bit of a gamble to me. Personally, I think buying a few extra healing potions is a better idea since we’re probably going to be testing out two new characters in this next dungeon, one of whom can’t attack while the other needs to damage itself to use some of its powers.
Back on the Cordy recruitment page I also listed out what we could sell a bunch of other items for, if we wanted to, but the ones I’ve selected here seemed to be the best choices based off of what other people have said in regards to character builds (keep staff for Lohk monk robe build, give Pipes to Botanya to give her a combat action, etc.) and my own opinions on the usefulness of certain items in our inventory.
My logic for what we’d be selling is: we don’t need the Gardening Gloves anymore, the Oxidicer/Rat Fang Dagger are too weak/situational to be worth carrying around at this point, the Leather Armor/Shield are basic equipment we could easily replace, the Double Crossbow is heavy/expensive to use as a weapon and the Crow Call is probably worth more as treasure than as a consumable. In short, it’s all stuff we either don’t need or can easily replace, or it’s so valuable it’s probably worth more as gold then as something we lug around on the off chance it’s useful to us. Pretty much everything else is something we use regularly enough to keep hold of, at least for the time being.
Is Lohk really just going to inquisitively poke this fungus?

Swap Molly and Squirrel in this load out.
Lara is slow, so will struggle to loot efficiently, but also doesn’t have enough high weight gear to really benefit from the hot-swapping with Molly’s packs. Kamau at least has the bonus of being able to suddenly free up 7 enc from gear.
Also, if you’re determined to bring Squirrel, he should be with Lara to protect us from trap screwups leading to remorse. Kamau can run himself into traps all day long with no consequences beyond HP loss.
Changed pets around (in another comment).

Mammoth Paddock for the 10% discount on above ground renos – build it first
Above ground non-manor renovations. So thats the Sentry Post. Shack With Still, Chicken Coop and Vegetable Garden, savings totalling to 8.5 gp. Which means the Paddock is +1 labour for 11.5 gp after everything is purchased. And unless we are looking to buy those things specifically, Id say its not important to build the paddock right now. Bond is more important.
