“The dungeon seems to have spread to the property boundaries of a single field.”

“I always thought the spread would only stop at the outside walls of a structure.”

“That’s more common, but dungeons can also be confined by conceptual or even legal boundaries.”

“They also erode those boundaries over time, though, which is how you sometimes get a dungeon that sits unnoticed for a long time before suddenly breaking out and enveloping nearby areas all at once.”

“It’s kind of a fascinating area of study, actually. There’s so much we don’t know.”

“Hey, we got a couple of experts with us! With all Kamau and Mac’s collective knowledge, we won’t be in any mortal peril at all!”

*indistinct cowardly noises*

“The really strange thing is that the dungeon boundary still works, so you can’t see what’s going on inside the dungeon from the outside, and vice versa.”

“Which means that we still don’t know exactly what we’ll find inside. Wonderful.”

“What we DO know is that the Empire seizes anything it finds inside a dungeon, so the farmers around here have already written off any produce that’s still in there. So you won’t be making any enemies if you help yourselves.”

“No enemies we haven’t made already, at least.”

*higher-pitched cowardly noises*

“The point is, your goal here should be to find and retrieve as much produce as you can. Vegetables, fruit, eggs, whatever you can find. Not only will it pay off immediately if we sell it, but we can use seeds or eggs to start our own production., which means more gold in the future.”

“Additionally, you should try to find as many different kinds of produce as you can. A diverse diet is healthier, after all.”

“I’m betting the locals would also be grateful if you could clear the whole dungeon like you did back at the manor, but getting the goods and not dying are more important.”

“Get food, get out, don’t die. Easy!”
