Intermission 6 Page 1

The walls, floors, and ceilings of the manor begin to twist and warp, melting away like butter in a frying pan! Gradually the kitchen that Ricki, Lara, and Macadamia fought the undead knight in contracts and changes shape. The three spend a tense moment worried that they might be crushed by the shrinking structure.
However, only moments after the strange phenomenon begins, it appears to be over.
Looking around, the trio finds that the manor is no longer a dungeon, but merely an ordinary abandoned building. All of the ambient dungeon features seem to have disappeared, including the stray items lying around. Even the normal furniture looks different than it did a minute ago.
“Check it out, guys! We just completely defeated a dungeon for the first time!”
“I guess that was a load-bearing knight.”
“Oh dear. Somehow this place is in even worse shape than when it was full of monsters. Is this really where we’re going to be living?”
“Of course! Think of how nice it’ll be if we fix it up a little bit!”
“Come on, let’s go find Lohk! She was in the master bedroom before everything changed, so she should still be—”
“Like I always say: seventy-eighth time’s the charm.”
Kamau, that was your good shoulder
Actually I think it was his bad! Looks to me like he lead with his left.
That was the one I meant! It’s all he has on that side
Man was at that for hours.
Here comes the rescue team 😀
…wait, 78? maan, Lohk will need to patch you up again
I wonder when he started doing that… Probably right away, turns don’t take that long…
I bet it was right after his last stack of remorse went off on the 5th hit we took. Poor Kamau realized he should have been there helping!
Hey, shouldn’t that have been the fifty-fifth try?

Is that… The Safe?
I’m looking at that gray square in the middle, bloody or something. It seems WAY too perfect-squarey and grayish color matches steel. It also seems rather undamaged compared to the rest of the building. I don’t think it’s The Safe from the dungeon, but it may be its normal counterpart, like a safe stash where we can keep items safely.
I’m reading that as an empty safe with the front door removed.
Might be about to attack us again, as well. *Laughs*
Well, at least the front door is in good shape… And it’s gone. Still have a stove.
We get a Dungeon Eyes view for convenience, but I wonder if Ricki can see that as well (since it’s an ex-dungeon). This might be the last she saw of it as the dungeon magic faded.
and I wonder about all the doors. Since ‘light brown’ is a way between rooms (look how Ricky talks with Mac through light-brown part of the wall), then all the doorways painted on the background must lead to even more rooms, deeper into the house. This house is not as small as it looks like!
Or the doors just lead to a staircase. The ladders are gone and there must be a way to get to the tower and Lohk. And a way into the basement. Let’s go check whether the monster is really dead! 😉
Will you look at Macadamia dissing their new home already?
Did he forget he had to sleep either in or next to a tent/camp last night? Surely something that has walls and a roof overhead has to be preferable, no?
And yeah, sure, it’s a fixer-upper but it is -yours- now and nobody will come looking for you here (until Macadamia inevitably sends someone a letter, of course).
A roof over your head does a lot more damage than a tent when it collapses on you. Hopefully those lines on the baseboards are just mold and not cracks.
Plus side, the rats will likely be too comfy in that couch upstairs to go nibbling at you, which is a definite step up from the alley.
I actually interpreted those lines as spots/areas where the paint/resin/finishing of the boards has come off.
Also, IF they are cracks, the question is: are those boards load bearing or are they merely decorative (=added to the wall to make it look nicer, but having no structural function)?
I’m kind of hoping that the group will be able to upgrade/renovate/fix the house bit by bit with the money they earn from future ventures. LSN did say that we have transitioned to part 2 (out of 3) for dungeon eyes, so maybe that is part of what this is all about. 😀
I mean there is only so much equipment you can buy with money (and carry!), after getting decent stuff for everyone we will need to be able to spend it on something and have it feel “worthwhile”, so we will still be “hungry” for loot/more dungeon crawling and/or get a sense of achievement out of doing well in a dungeon.
I guess the stairs and the stove would probably my first “targets”/goals to get fixed, because both of them can spell diseaster if used while not functioning properly. But it really depends on what the other options (and the effects of them being fixed/not fixed) are and how much money each option costs.
That flue ends directly on the (wooden?!) wall. If the hot gases do not set it on fire, they still have a chance to burn down the house one floor above by lighting the dark red “rectangle”. The horizontal part of the flue pipe is too long for my taste anyway, and a cowl is missing at the top of the chimney.
I wouldn’t be so sure. Our mysterious “Friend” knows about this place. He can turn us in to guards should he decide to get rid of our group.
okay, “next to nobody will come -randomly- looking for you here”. Happy now?
So, there was something BIG and, apperanty, alive here in the safe, and srinking killed it. Welp.
I think we heard something different on the stream, but hell yeah, this definitely looks like that right now. Maybe that was the real place for knight’s body? Uhh..
Maybe it’s really freaky fungus, like that stuff that was anímate in (name that other IP.) I have a thing against brightly colored fungus. And maybe all fungus.
Looks like rust to me, not blood. Blood is brighter.
Only when fresh. Dried blood is rather brown-ish.
Yeah, but it’s a way darker brown.
Someone should check that bedroom under the stairs, it’s probably crawling with depressed boy wizards.
That was the FIRST time we WON???
no, but this was the first time we defeated all dungeon creatures inside the dungeon. (Apparently the warg doesn’t count.)
Inventory after the dungeon before shopping, for posterity. Treasure is low because we already cashed out in the dungeon.
