“…You’re right, Lara.”
“And you know what?”
“I think Amadeusz ISN’T.”
“I mean, look at Ix! They’re not some kind of killing machine!”
“If the Empire attacks the elementals, I’m sure they WILL fight back, and it sounds like they’ll probably win, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be the end of the world.”
“Maybe it’ll just be the end of the world we know.”
“Sure, we should still try to stop it if we can, but…”
“What we really need to do is make sure we can survive WITHOUT the Empire.”
“And we’re gonna need as much help as we can get.”
RESCUES can now be tracked on the character and manor pages.
In case you didn’t see the announcement on the home page, LoneStarNorth’s Spookyween Scaretacular Livescream is taking place this Sunday the 27th, starting at 6 PM Eastern! Find it here: https://www.twitch.tv/lonestarnorth
I enjoyed the game’s realistic depiction of how no one understands how diabetes works.
Roy: “I need that insulin.” [<– keeps your blood sugar from going too high]
Caz: “Can’t you just eat some jam?” [<– keeps your blood sugar from going too low]
Of course, considering that you can end up in a coma either way, the confusion is understandable.
So lara and the 3 sentries are all rescues. We’ll need to build the 2 kobold dens and the shill shack for more. I don’t know about you but I’m excited!
tower defense mode unlocked!
Cool.
Cool! Do we know what, if anything, rescues do mechanically?
No. But feel freel to share theories!
So I’d say rescues have gotta be some kinda overall win condition surely. And by continuing to take Amadeusz we are reducing the number of our party members we can ‘rescue’. Please let’s stop taking him and focus on the other characters.
But what if Amadeusz, as a route, lets us actually prevent the war?
I could definitely see it as 2 different ending routes, which would make sense as to why you have to sacrifice bond with others to go the Amadeusz route. But despite what he says, do you not think Amadeusz would essentially be the ‘bad’ option?
To go all in on him, you have to abandon bonding with anyone else, which appears to be explicitly opposite to what Ricki is saying she want’s to do here.
That could be true, but if maxing bond doesn’t do that, then we have less bond overall
IMHO, “maxbond” is not the same as “rescued”, just happened to be in-line with Lara. I’d rather guess that each other ‘rescuable’ charcater will have different conditions to be ‘rescued’. Otherwise, why “bond” and “rescue” and not i.e. “bond” and “bestfriends”? Naming makes no sense.
Like, for example, restoring Coccyx’s memory doesn’t sound like anything related to “bond”.
Or, like three sentries, there can be other non-playable non-party-able characters to rescue.
Did LSN say anything about that on Discord/etc?
I’m not in the discord, but I think it’s a reasonable assumption that you get the opportunity to ‘rescue’ a party member via maxing their bond. Like Lara’s dungeon for example. We’d have more data to go off of if people hadn’t decided to just give up on everyone’s bond.
I mean that’s just pretty reasonable game design. If you have an outcome you know people want, and you have a gameplay element they might reasonably want to pursue, you might reasonably stick the carrot onto simple good enough execution of the gameplay loop. Bond = story, story presents an opportunity to bring about happy endings.
No new information on discord about rescues but we theorize that both labor and rescues will determine the ending or at least change how easy a good ending is to obtain. Naturally, the sooner we buy labor upgrades the more money we make.
We have a lot of money right now. I’ll post our potential income list so everyone can chime in what they think and what they want to buy
Easy way to find out: Max bond with Kamau (which I think most players want to do anyway) and/or Mac, and see if they get rescue stars too. I bet they will, since we literally rescued both of them from dungeons.
This makes upgrades that house NPC’s pretty much mandatory,
and since they are all Labour+ upgrades I would like to make the case for the other labour upgrades:
Vegetable Garden, Chiken Coop, Ice Box

Hmmm.. looking over things, I think we may want to keep a shield and the chain for ring enchants. I would also only want to bring 20 gp for purse and use midas gloves to fill the last slot
Oh sweeet dungeon eyes is back. With a shiny new mechanic!
I think this page means theres 3 main endings:
Golden end: We stop the war. World peace yay!
Good end: Elementals blow up the empire but we rescued enough people for our community to live on and welcome survivors and rebuild.
Bad end: Elementals blow up the empire and civilization collapse because we didn’t rescue enough people.
