Dungeon 9 Turn 21
————
The party gathers again and returns to the lower room to loot some stuff. Ricki opens another sarcophagus, which disgorges a heavily armed skeleton. Kamau opens a trapped chest, which fires an enchanted arrow that pierces his armour and deals 1 unblockable damage. He collects the three similar arrows that remain.

ARROW, PIERCING
Ammunition
Can be used with a bow. If it cannot pierce Def, it deals 1 unblockable damage. Expended after use.
Weight 1 (Stack 6), Cost 6
Kamau: Interpose against armored skeleton.
Botanya: Go stand near armored skeleton and pipe it. Stuff items into Golly, not picking up rusty helm if needed. Lara can get that if you have no space.
Lara: attack armored skeleton with corn spear
Ricki: attack armored skeleton with swiftblade.
Pets are not attacking to reduce armor breakage chance.
Do we need an interpose? Unless I’m missing something, he can’t hurt anyone on his own. Even with Cox.
The skeleton is wielding a Maul. That hits like a truck.
Ah, mistook it for a hammer somehow
They are nearly the same sprite, with a size difference, so that’s very understandable.
uH…. This one? Voting is doing weird shit again….
I vote for this plan.
I vote for this plan too
Not a bad turn overall!
Reminder: zombies have moved up one screen and are two screens away
Edit: [Plan retracted]
This assumes Flytrap will hit despite being blinded. Would rather take a guaranteed kill, personally.
We could have Shroomie #1 + Golly attack instead of the Flytrap. That adds up to 14.
Oh, you’re correct. It’s quite annoying how nightvision is a hidden perk on the character/pet sheets.
But we don’t know if Golly has it either, right? So I don’t think that would be a good alternative.
I’m leaving this plan here since people already started voting on it, but I’ll try to think of another guaranteed kill plan that doesn’t cost our full party’s actions.Edit: I can’t think of anything and missing seems worse the more I think of it so I’m retracting the whole plan.
Alternate plan for more efficient use of actions.
Kamau: Keep wielding your shield, but punch the new RSkelly. (6 damage)
Ricki: Wielding your Swiftblade and Rusty Heavy Shield, cut up the RSkelly (9 damage)
Botanya: Stick close by and perform the flute doot and loot maneuver on the RSkelly, prioritizing its Maul and Rusty Plate Armour.
Lara: Head to the room to the left and, along with your pet Shroom, take out the lone Zombie.
We’ve learned from previous turns that 8 damage is enough to take out a Reinforced Skeleton. Kamau and Ricki are easily able to meet that with their forces combined. We know the Reinforced Skeleton’s Atk stat is 2, and that the Maul is +6, which combined brings RSkelly to 8, reduced to 7 by Botanya’s proximity. Our best estimate for Coccyx’s arrows is 4 or 5 damage, meaning if he and the RSkelly target the same character, they’re dealing 11 or 12 damage. Ricki with her heavy shield has 11 defense. All told, between random targeting and Botanya’s flute, Ricki has a 40% chance of taking 1 damage assuming Coccyx deals 5 damage with his Bow.
Lara’s actions are a 50/50 shot of taking 1 Infection on her to take out a Zombie. Worth the coin flip, imo.
40% is too high. Our remorse timer is nearly out, and we may need to take some remorse elsewhere still. Avoidable remorse is a no.
