Dungeon 8 Turn 15
————
Ricki returns to wagon number two and opens the last unguarded chest there. She finds more boxed goods! That’s six out of ten found! She heads one room back to the right afterwards.
Kamau, Lara, and Cordy all head right to explore the final wagon.
“Aha! Have you arrived to challenge the legendary PET MASTER?!”
Oh, THIS guy again. Cordy and Lara swap items in preparation to completely ignore him, while Kamau drinks to dull the noise of Pet Master’s shouting.
A basement in a caravan?! Gosh darn dungeon logic I’m done with trying to predict things…
And 3 locks? We better find another set of tools soon.
…another two sets: We have two sets, we need one set for the door in room 4, and three sets for the chest in room 5, i.e. 4 needed, 2 at hand. 🙁 If Ricki is careful and keeps the keys, just one set is sufficient for 100 locks, but… – Would suggest to use a set on the door, because 2 boxes are behind the door.
What basement? I don’t see any ladder leading further down than the room we see now.
Nevermind my ramblings. I thought that ladder went a floor down. I blame my phone’s tiny screen
The box at the bottom of the room has a different “key hole” than the boxes seen before, and on the ground before it there are three “mines”, thus I assume that this box has some
machine gunshooting mechanism inside. Beware!Yeah. I think it’s the same arrow trap from the Warren’s. That said we know bomb bolts exist now so it could be deadlier
It could also fire explosive bolts, since we know those are a thing. Could be real bad.
I think we can do pet master until we find some way to buff daisy as I think the snale has 3 def and a misschance once you get drunk. And we don’t even know what the pet item it has does either.
.
Waitaminute … does that mean we could have had a SNALE as our pet the whole time?!
Free booze AND an awesome ranged attack that debuffs enemies, who could say “no” to that? (The drunk guy we saved in the tavern most likely NOT. :D)
Or is the pet master cheating and has creatures as pets that mere mortals like our delinquent group will never be able to aqquire? The last time we met him, he had some kind of bat creature, I don’t think we ever had the chance to get a bat pet, either.
Snale is 2/3/3.
Hmm… hey guys, remember how we buffed Daisy before our previous PET DUEL and it was totally okay despite PET MASTER telling us we can’t do that during one?
Well how about we debuff his pet with Web Binding before the PET DUEL this time?
Daisy can one-shot the snale the turn after.
I really want the blue doggy we missed. Daisy deserves a friend!
Agree. We’re too scared of using Lara’s abilities.
This snale is buffed up. Look at its head and neck. The snales we saw earlier did not have such dark bands. This might be pet’s equipment, or a different subspecies.
I mean, stealthily buffing our pet our of sight of the pet master feels different from casting a spell on his pet in his sight. I don’t think we’ll be able to more or less attack his pet openly.
Kamau: Go downstairs and interpose for the eagle fight.
Lara: Join Kamau downstairs. Attack the rightmost eagle (8-10 dmg)
Cordy: Join Kamau downstairs. Attack the 2nd eagle from the right (9 dmg)
Ricki: Go two screens right to join the party. Follow Kamau downstairs and attack the 3rd eagle from the right (7 dmg)
Daisy: Attack the 4th eagle from the right (3 dmg)
Little Mushrooms: Attack the 4th eagle from the right (7 dmg)
Explanation: Gotta clear these guys out to get to the next guard fight. We used 11 damage to kill one before, but that easily demolished them so I think it was probably massive overkill. This may not kill them all, but if they’re only as tough as wolves, it will.
Side note: I somehow thought we fail the quest if the wolves defeat 3 groups of Bandits. It’s worse. The rule says members, not groups – “If they defeat 3 members of a faction, that faction’s quest cannot be completed.”. Just 3 random bandits downed by wolves and mission failed. I start to think that KO’ing all the bandits might not be a bad idea.
I’ll be laughing so hard, if the bandit side ends up with 3 casualties by wolves and then we -have- to either give the boxes to the merchants instead (all of which are hale and hearty because we knocked them all out) or forfeit fulfilling the dungeon goal, after so many people preferred to help the bandits over the merchants. Not maliciously laughing, mind you, but at the bizzarre outcome of our intentions.
Absolutely. The rule about KO’ing a side not counting as a fail must be there for a reason. We’ll soon see, it might be epic 🙂
