Dungeon 7 Turn 41
————
Kamau and Macadamia each clear away one of the squirrels on top of the chest. Ricki arrives in the treehouse room after collecting three carrots from in front of the barn, dropping them to form a pile of five (plus one still in the ground).
Meanwhile, the oldest member of the party struggles to scale the giant plant stalk by herself.
After a long climb, she finally hauls herself into the petals of the enormous flower. And there she finds…
“hello”
flower for valentines day!
Oh, the plan is indeed to recruit Ricki’s new waifu at the closing of Valentine’s day! What a coincidence
And Lohk loves to meet and share food with new people so I’m sure the conversation will go great
Kamau: Climb down from the squirrel level. Interpose for the party to prevent the spider from attacking anyone and help any smalls get up and down from the squirrel level as needed. After the last member of the party descends out of the treehouse, get down yourself.
Ricki: Wait for Kamau to get into interpose position, then ascend to the top of the treehouse. Loot the squirrel chest, then climb back down with Kamau’s help. Finally, head to the right one and up one to be ready to say hi to our new potential friend on the following turn.
Macadamia: Wait for Kamau to descend, then with his help get back down from the squirrel level. Get out of the treehouse, and once Kamau and everyone else have descended, use some trick to disconnect the lassoed rope (by sliding it up along the branch? If this is impossible, pick the last ground carrot as your action.
Lohk: Say hello to the dryad. Express how much your daughter would probably like to meet her, and that she’ll probably be along soon. Get any into out of the dryad that you can about what she might want or how she’s doing, then move down one.
Explanation: We can’t get Ricki to this screen with an action available to do any recruiting this turn, so we might as well finish up with the treehouse before moving Ricki closer. Plan is to get the new character recruited with Ricki, to shift some equipment on Kamau and Mac to get Mac equipped with the gloves and Kamau’s defense slightly higher (heavy shield for gloves and small shield), and get Lohk into position for the team to start fighting the potato beast in the basement.
Potato better be the last goal. I think everyone is getting ready to be done with this dungeon
Way I see it is that the only things we can reasonably still grab are the chests in the basement, the squirrel chest, and maybe MAYBE Manny. So long as there’s no huge twist in the next couple turns we should have until turn 50 to get ourselves all packed up and out the door.
What with Manny?
Do you think we can take him along? I highly doubt that. I think Manny will still be far more interested in the hay than us. If we want to check it out, we have to proceed *carefully* and first take a peek from above. There is a chance that Manny finished eating and/or there’s no hay anymore, and he has returned to overwatch.
Or do you think there could be some interaction between flower-girl and manny? That could be interesting. I think after eating hay, he wouldn’t try to eat her flower. … no, I mean the one on her head, I have no idea what you were thinking.
(by the way, do you also feel the ‘skeleton with flower on his head’ vibe here..?)
Oh, I still think it’s possible for us to kill Manny probably if there’s no incoming twist and Kamau doesn’t suddenly take a bunch of damage. It’d just take longer now. That’s what I was referring to. We’d do minimum 16 damage in the first round with the last fireball, Kamau in melee mode, and Ricki on bow. I don’t think it’s a likely course of action, but if it turns out the flower girl has some ability that enables that we might go for it.
Uhm, will Kamau be able to both interpose AND help Ricki and Macadamia between levels?
I thought the latter qualified as an action as well; do I remember incorrectly?
He was able to loot the chest and help Macadamia up two turns ago. Boosting a
small character isn’t an action.
Right. thanks for clarifying that. 🙂
Can someone explain how did Kamau kill a squirrel? Character page shows he has 4-4=0 attack.
It died of fright.
Kamau: 3 innate base attack + 1 (ring) + 1 (hilt) = 5
5-4 = 1.
That – plus the fact that Kamau one-shotted a “pristine” squirrel – would mean that squirrels have a Def of 0 and 1 HP only.
Oh look! Another monster to kill!
Oh come on. Think of the RP!
I can’t help it, but when I see her plant-ish appearance, I can only think of one hungry mammoth out there. I just can’t stop grinning at the thought of our faces and jaws on the floor if we hadn’t given him hay and tried to run past mammoth with her and he literally ate her xD That would be soo memorable 😀
I only hope she’s not angry at us for pulling all the carrots/corns/tomatoes/etc. But at this moment she wants to talk, so Lohk seems to be pretty safe from falling from the flower in the next turn.
Well, she should be pretty safe, as she is the Granola version of Lara, I mean, a new party member.
Roleplaying? Not in my play-by-forum game! Roleplaying doesn’t lose HP or drop treasure! And how is anyone supposed to use spreadsheet math to solve numeric problems of ATK and DEF? And there’s no chance for constant inventory shuffling.
Roleplaying a straight-out murderhobo is not good roleplaying in the vast majority of situations.
Wait, you mean I could build a spreadsheet to figure out actions? Why have we been thinking about this stuff!?
Didn’t you know there are spreadsheets now on how to help all sorts of people including a wooly mammoth?
/s, to be clear
Don’t try to trick her(?), she wasn’t born yesterday.
I gave this a Thumbs up.
I am Siv, and that was my favorite pune, or play on words, in the Citadel.
