Dungeon 7 Turn 19
————
Ricki opens a second locked door. Once again she decides not to throw away her lockpicks after.
Kamau gets another tomato to the face, but he takes no damage this time. Macadamia and Daisy rip apart the tomato vine while Lohk shuffles past, out of the barn and into the back field.
None of the party actually heard the farmer’s warning from the beginning of the dungeon, but if she had, right now Lohk would be reflecting…
…that he didn’t actually specify what KIND of bull was loose in here.
The bull mammoth stomps restlessly back and forth behind the barn. It looks to Lohk as if this is the far edge of the dungeon, so if it really wanted to, it could theoretically leave. It must be deep in the grip of dungeon madness. Or maybe it’s just a scared animal? Hard to say.
The mammoth hasn’t noticed Lohk yet, but it seems to be watching the ground-level barn door closely.
This feels like the type of enemy where you want to give everyone ranged weapons and snipe it from up top. I really don’t feel like Kamau has enough HP left to tank this. I’m probably wrong given no one we’ve seen so far can hurt Kamau alone rn and 9 HP is a lot given that, but without a lens to tell us its ATK it makes me very nervous.
…A Bull Mammoth.
On the one hand I don’t think we don’t need to worry about it doing constant-warping to target on attack things that prevent disengaging but…
On the other hand I think we should just grab the goods and leave this one alone, given the stacking Atk penalties…
And we could probably clear the Barn and get the special chest instead.
We can totally slide that hay bale over and feed the mammoth. Future thought.
Just gotta choose between that and smashing the pumpkin.
The pumpkin could also be smashed with an empty chest.
Or… Several. *Evil grin*
I’m all in. Hay to the mammoth, chests to pumpkins. Splat!
Does a mammoth eat hay? Ok. Grasses. Maybe? Are you going to deny me the pleasure of watching the pumpkin gettting squished just to feed a mammoth and maybe tame it as a familiar?
Yes, THIS! Let’s TAME the mammoth bull! 😀
bestest pet 4 evah
How do you fit it into your pocket? Some sort of magic ball?
WTF…
When we leave, maybe have Kamau go out first and run to the other side of the Bull then everyone else comes out the next turn while it’s distracted.
Crazy pet this dungeon
Macadamia: Attack the corn knight.
Lohk: Move left, then move left again using your action. Have your torch out to scare the potato beast.
Kamau: Wait for Lohk, then move left. Go downstairs and attack the rooster.
Ricki: Unlock the last locked door on your screen, then time your move downstairs to coincide with Lohk’s move onto the screen to join the group at the coop.
Explanation: We’d like to try to avoid getting remorse, and the corn knight could attack Lohk when she runs by for 1 damage and thus 1 remorse. Having Mac attack the corn knight should insure it doesn’t attack Lohk, and it also gets us some damage on the knight and a better idea of what it armor vs hp might be. Additionally, we’re thinking maybe chickens spawn every 5 turns, and maybe after we fed corn to the coup we’ll end up with a friendly chicken spawning this turn that we need to protect from the chickens that spawned before. To get over to the chicken coup, we’ve gotta bring along Lohk with a torch to keep the potato passive, hence her double moving this turn.
On a longer time scale, we’re hoping to move the hay bale along the beam it’s hanging from left to right, since the hay can likely be used to make the mammoth temporarily passive to allow us to escape out the right side. We’ll probably want to clear the potato beast and corn knight out of the way to do this safely, while also looting the 4 unlocked chests we now have available to us. Further options are to have Kamau run through the 6 skeletons (that all only do 2 damage per the chapel) to loot that chest safely, and we might also consider fighting through the 3 reinforced skeletons with weapons to access that locked chest.
> Further options are to have Kamau run through the 6 skeletons (that all
only do 2 damage per the chapel) to loot that chest safely
Don’t forget that the chest also has a stalkroach, so there’s potentially another ?4? damage there. You’ll remember the numbers and behavior better than I do, but since the skeletons’ damage exactly matches K’s current Def, whatever the roach’s damage is K will take all of it as HP loss if it attacks when he opens it.
Shoot it! With an Arrow! Crossbow!
Lohk: Zap it! Now! Keep zapping it UNTIL IT DIES
