Dungeon 6 Turn 35
————
Macadamia, Lohk, and Ricki make their way back towards the upper floors of the manor. On the way, Macadamia stop to feed an entire pile of candy to Daisy, giving her a temporary boost to Atk, Def, and Mov.
As opposed to killing her, which is what would probably happen in real life. The ghost appears and admonishes Macadamia for doing a terrible job as a pet caregiver.
Ricki climbs up to the highest room in the tower and helps Lara finish off the batbeast. It drops dead, but it doesn’t drop loot. What a shame.
Lohk approaches Pet Master.
“The kids tell me you’re looking for some kind of battle.”
“Yes, a PET DUEL! You see, there are many creatures in this world known as PETS, which some people—”
“Yeah, yeah. Just get your little bat ready.”
“It’s a VENOM BAT!”
“This prize of yours better be good…”
Lohk prepares to commit herself to standing around and watching animals fight until one of them passes out, but she can’t do that right now because Daisy spent this turn eating a whole bunch of candy, which, again, is not something you should let your dog do. Don’t make them fight other peoples’ pets, either, for that matter.
This is definitely one of my favorite turns in dungeon eyes to date. I am laughing so hard right now.
Suddenly I feel very bad for suggesting candies4dogs xD
Lara: Boost Macadamia up to the chest above (boosting has previously not been an action). Afterwards, search under the bed to see what you find and take it if it’s loot you can hold. Head downstairs to the living room with your movement.
Ricki: Pick up the bat hide armor and equip it.
Macadamia: Drop the now useless keys in the living room, then head up to the tower to be boosted by Lara, then loot the chest.
Lohk: Continue that
pokémonpet battle.Explanation and Future Turns Planning:
I’m assuming whatever we find under the bed won’t be a monster, and if it is Lara can move back to the tower next turn to fight it if Ricki can’t handle it alone. Plan for the turn AFTER this will be to have Ricki and Macadamia trade equipment while Lohk finishes up the pet battle and Lara continues making her way to the library to engage the owlbear or plague rats/dog. Planned layout for Ricki/Mac will be
Ricki: Bat Hide Armor, Helmet, Heavy Pick, rope, Ring of Protection 6/7 [5A, 6D]
Macadamia: Magma Shield, Longsword, Leather Armor 4/5 Ring of Aggression [3A, 5D]
Basically we need to get Lara around the tower to fight anything she can reach. There’s a rat hole in the living room that either leads to the rats with the stalkroach OR the kidney pincher, so we need to have all three small folk geared up to fight in the event it ends up being the kidney pincher hole. The hope is that we can get a good enough ambush up by entering in behind him to finish him without trouble. Ricki can use the heavy pick, and we don’t have enough weapons outside of what Lohk is holding otherwise, so this is the best layout under the circumstances. Future turns look something like this
T36: As above
T37: Mac and Ricki trade, taking into account any changes due to the new chest/whatever was under the bed. If necessary, Lara returns to fight bed monster and Ricki helps. Otherwise, Lara heads to the entryway with a double move. Lohk hopefully wraps up the pet battle this turn if she didn’t win last turn.
T38: Lara goes to engage the owlbear if she made it that far, otherwise move towards that goal. Rest of party enters the rat hole assuming Lohk is ready with instructions to all attack the kidney pincher with all available fire power (save fireball probably). Should be 11 damage. Using fireball would give us a range up to 14 but no higher guaranteed damage than Lohk melee. We should add a conditional to have the party kill rats if they end up having the rat hole go left instead of up.
T39: ??
May need to change this if the Pet Master gives us something.
Actually, the basement keys might still be useful. There is one door in the “trap room” (even though we build stairs out of the bed and chest to circumvent this door) and one more in the actual tomb.
We don’t have those. They were discarded automatically because we already unlocked/had access to all locked doors in basement. Key ring has the master bedroom, tower, kitchen, and library keys.
Listen, I’ll have my diabetic dogs pit fight whether you like it or not, mister!
