Dungeon 3 Turn 18
————
Ricki swaps out her old dagger for the throwing dagger, while Kamau puts his heavy armour back on and tucks the grave flowers into his hat. Kamau heads alone into the ghoul pope’s lair.
As soon as Kamau enters the room, the ghoul pope fires off a ball of magical light at the bats, which promptly descend from the ceiling to attack Kamau on his way past. He gets hit by all five bats AND all four skeletons as he charges the pope and hits for huge damage. The pope remains standing, however.
Kamau takes 2 damage from the gauntlet he runs through. One of his two grave flowers wilts.
I was worried that would happen, thank goodness we had the flowers.
Hopefully the bats go after the skellies now. We should keep Ricki out of the room for a bit. If the bats got after the skellies we can move her in and throw a dagger.
Kamau: kill the ghoul.
Ricki: move back to the chandelier lever (watch the glass!) And use lever if it would hit something besides kamau
Also just noticed that the ghoul attacked the bats with magical light. The armor’s bonus might apply here. I hope the ghoul goes down in the next hit
Interestingly, bats survived, so that magical light was probably pretty weak.
Also, note that Kamau got to the pedestal, and bats and skellies are behind.
Since Ricki is stuck for some time…
… what’d you say, how about Kamau not making a single step back,
while Ricky drops the chandelier NOW?
I don’t know about bats, but that may mean at least taking out the tall skeleton, and if it hits any bat, that’s a plus as well.
Also, since Kamau is big and strong ( 🙂 ) he might try swapping places with the popeghoul and pushing him into the chandelier area?
Alternatively, holy water. We’ve got 5 undead here. I still think using it as a grenade would be more-awesomer, but if not, then use holy water, strike the ghoul, and count on the counterattack triggering so one of the skeletons see that holy water shining up close as well.
Kamau can smash a skeleton from full health without any bonuses. Holy water is overkill.
I wonder if putting holy water on an enemy would make it glow and deal +2 damage…
Swapping places would be a good idea for any other enemy, but Kamau shouldn’t touch the ghoul, we don’t want him to get paralyzed.
Ricki already moved the lever back on turn 16, but otherwise, yes to this
Again, it takes 2 moves for Ricki to reach the lever. She can’t use it this turn.
She could have used it this turn if we had sent her upstairs last turn when all she did was move items around. I think we made the right call though, by the same reasoning it’ll take her a couple turns to come down and help in person if paralysis is really bad.
Interesting, that’s 9 damage. Kamau has 6 defense, confirming that grave flowers don’t stack, you get +1 Atk/Def no matter how many grave flowers you’re carrying. Plus side, only one is used if you both attack and are attacked by undead in the same turn, which makes sense but isn’t what the literal text says.
With the bats active, I’d rather not send Ricki in to help even if Kamau is paralyzed. Plus side, bats have picked targets randomly before.
That ranged attack deals 1 damage. Might be preferable to get hit by that than paralyzing touch, especially if the ‘light’ part makes it holy damage that we’d get the extra defense against.
Counterattack: 0/5. C’mon, Counterattack, you’re making me look bad for recommending you.
