Dungeon 2 Turn 51
————
Ricki and Kamau quickly come up with a plan to get out of the dungeon ASAP. After giving the rusty sword and ale to Kamau in exchange for the keys and coin, Ricki moves to the left and then down, headed for one of the holes in the wall.
Along the way she witnesses the guard and dog moving to the second room. The guard appears to be directing the dog to jump over the broken glass, then walks across himself without issue.
Kamau moves down two rooms to the final unused lever.
Ricki: Go right and enter the hole, then flip the lever. Don’t warn the thugs, even though they are enemies of our “enemy” and could help us get out safely, they are still bad dudes, Kamau might not like us helping them.
Kamau: Ignore the skeletons, count how many dead drunks are here, flip the lever, then go up the ladder and into the small room with the chest and two knocked out drunks, if the guard comes down this way maybe they’ll go into the room with the skeletons first. If they don’t come down this way, they’ll be moving towards Ricki and we can follow them.
Loose idea for some emergency running: The room where Ricky is, can she hop on the barrel and on the balcony and hide in the opened chest? The guard probably could up, but would need to have any clue to do so, and the dog probably won’t be able to jump that high. Kamau could probably hide behind the chest, with some luck. So Ricky in the chest, Kamau behind it. If the guard just passes (Ricky would probably know), then as quietly as possible get down and go for the stairs. If the guard climbs up and a fight starts, Kamau could try pushing him back, for some added falling damage, or at least some precious surprise seconds.
Kam: If you encounter the dog, try to put the skeleton between you and the dog. Interpose and get past the skeletons in this case – the dog can wear them down a bit.
Ricki: Go to the thugs. Flip the switch. Tell them the guards are coming. They can either stay and hope for re-enforcements, join to take on the guards together, or run for it. They can join if they want – it is only one guard and a dog.
FYI: Ricki will need to double move (go right and go into the tunnel) in order to get to the thugs. So she cannot flip the switch this turn, but she can probably talk to the thugs (free action iirc.). However, I would postpone that to next turn (which should be the last one in this dungeon anyway, because we will achieve the primary goal and be safely be “teleported” out of the dungeon, no matter the dangers in between our characters and the exit), in case the thugs don’t believe her and/or become aggressive (people backed into a corner often do) because they feel threatened by the approach of the lawman.
Besides, so far it is ONE guard (and his dog), not plural. If we tell the thugs at all, we should better stick to the truth. While I fully expect them to lie to us if it suits them, there might be repercussions to lying to them. They might also blame us (rightfully so) for attracting the guard to this dungeon in the first place.
Ricki: Run to the lever with the thugs, switch that lever!
Kamau: Switch the lever in your room! (Ignore the skeletons, just take their attacks, your HP wil be filled when finishing/leaving the dungeon.)
Because the link to KingMarth’ enemies stats sheet has not been posted for quiet a long time (and new players might have joined):
https://gist.github.com/KingMarth/2c55735080b5b7a39b1514154a2cb177
(On https://dungeoneyes.com/enemies/ there are no skeletons, for example. Could we have those there, please?)
Another useful tip: I’ve set that link as my username link. My name anywhere (well, starting midway through this dungeon when I made the stats sheet) should lead you to the stats.
Great, thanks!
May be worth making it clear to the thugs that we’re still working on the pipes and don’t want any trouble.
EDIT: Side note, we have confirmation that a greatsword is a one-handed weapon. It’d be amazing if we could get that gear, but since the gear itself is in our way of taking it, no such luck. Still, we can dream of Kamau getting a serious blade.
