Dungeon 18 Turn 14
————

Amadeusz places his elemental seal on the wall, setting it to empower fire magic.

Ricki pulls the lever that locks the door on the lowest level, then descends to the first room. She runs past the first group of rats again, continuing to dodge or block all their attacks.

Plan: Drop the chandelier
Ricki: Go through the hole and avoid the pressure plate (and the Blood Rat King). Drop the chandelier on the battle below. Move back through the hole after (avoiding the pressure plate again).
Amad: Use your extra music ability granted from the Card Catalog to Dirge (I think it was missed at dungeon start).
Despite what the image shows, Ricki should have ended her turn next to the hole this turn and should not get attacked by both groups when she drops the chandelier.
Amad will need to wait before flipping the lever for 2 turns so he’s got some time to kill. Open to suggestions.
Next turn, Ricki can sneak past both the owlbear and the rats to get by the final hole. After that Amad can flip the lever the and start cleaning up the stragglers
Reason why I dont wanna drop chandelier this turn is that if solar dies turn 15, im not sure how long the locked door will hold the justiciar. Like he could join enforcer on turn 17 which is baad
I think the solar will probably die next turn either way. I’m guessing it’s down around 9hp now, so one more attack from the patrol should finish it off.
So the way I see it, next turn is our last chance to drop a chandelier on the patrol. Hopefully with the fire seal active the chandelier should do just enough damage to finish off the two elite guards, so then we’ll only have the justiciar to deal with on T16.
Edit: Next turn is our last guaranteed chance to drop a chandelier on the patrol. If they have to smash through the door on T16 to get to level 4, we could drop it on them then. But it’s also possible they have a secret knock and the enforcer opens it for them.
Whats your math? Solar has 18 base and took 3 dirges so 15hp before the fight.
It got debuffed to 6-3=3 defense and got hit by 2 elites at 4 atk each so should have taken 5dmg for 10hp left right?
Then next turn justiciar can punch or buff for 3, or zap for 1(cuz holy resist) for 8 dmg total so I think Solar survive at 2hp?
I said around 9hp because we’re not sure whether elites buff each other. So it could be 10hp or could be 8.
I was forgetting about the solar’s holy resist though. So if elites don’t buff each other, then you’re right, the solar should survive one more turn. But if they do then it’s toast
Edit: Hold on, I think the justiciar’s ranged attack will do 3, not 1, because of the elemental seal – right? In which case the solar is definitely toast.
Solar’s shield give it 2 extra holy def on top of its 5 so 8-7=1. but even if it was 3, that’s the same as punching or buffing so cant kill solar unless elites buff each other
We’re a turn behind on my original planned timeline cuz Ricki was intended flip that lever last turn, but I see two paths that gets both characters attacking enforcer turn 19.
Plan A:
Amad: Swap instrument to weapons
Ricki: Avoid pressure plate to loot rat king chest then move through hole for eyes on entrance just in case(avoid pressure plate again)
Rough draft for future:
16: ricki drop chandelier, return to room 1.
17: ricki go to room 3, then sneaks past owlbear to wait by final hole, amad flip lever.
18: amad finish off justiciar, Ricki enter hole to unlock door
19: both attacks enforcer
I prefer this over plan B cuz amad will have swapped to swords for more damage. He do 16 dmg, can increase to 23 with fang+musical use.
Plan B:
Amad: Flip lever
Ricki: Drop chandelier, then move through hole for eyes on entrance just in case.
Rough draft for future:
16: kill rat king, finish off justiciar
17: ricki loot rat king chest then move to room 2, amad flip lever again
18: Ricki enter hole to unlock door, amad re-flip lever
19: both attacks enforcer
Advantage is that rat king is dead so whatever dungeon-wide effect will be gone, and maybe he’ll have something useful for us.
Why? This would block Ricki’s access to level 4 and expose Amad to attacks from solar and patrol
patrol is busy with solar and amad is not walking past them(like turn 8, was spotted cuz walking past).
This allows attacking justiciar on turn 16 for 100% chance justiciar dont get time to bust door lock and join with enforcer.
Look at the rough draft, amad is re-flipping later to unblock ricki
I saw the reflip later, it just seemed like a waste of actions since I didn’t know why you were having Amad flip it now. Thanks for explaining, now I don’t know which plan to vote for 🙂
Edit: I was going to switch my vote to this plan but then I noticed it doesn’t mention the pressure plate, so I posted a new and improved version below
Kat’s Plan B, now with fewer explosions
Amad: Flip lever
Ricki: Go through the hole and avoid the pressure plate (and the Blood Rat King). Drop the chandelier on the battle below. Move back through the hole after (avoiding the pressure plate again) and see if anyone’s entering the dungeon.
