Dungeon 17 Turn 16 Part 4
————

“Okay. This is okay. Everyone else is just a few rooms off.”
“They’ll come looking for us soon.”
“But the books! They all crumbled! They won’t be able to translate the writing on the door to open it!”

“I’m so sorry. This is my fault. I’m the one who really wanted to come here.”
“And I made us stay and read that book instead of leaving when you wanted to!”
“You were trying to help me, Ricki.”
“It’s these…damned dead kobolds.”

“These… IDIOTS!”
“Living their lives for this… creature!”
“Hiding underground! Locking themselves in a sealed room with a corpse! Sentencing future generations to the same fate!”
“They’re the ones that built this whole ridiculous deathtrap! And for what?”
“To try to hatch a replacement oppressor?”
“From unfertilized eggs?!”
“I don’t see any little baby dragon skeletons shoved into that corner! Just MORE! Dead! Kobolds!”
“That died underground, alone, hopeless, away from their loved ones…”
“Died for nothing! Died for a LIE!!”

“JUST LIKE I’M GOING TO!!!“

…is it just me, or is Mac looking a bit more ‘draconic’ in that one panel where he breathes light?
Watch out when he sneezes next
And it turned out, that the dragon they searched for had been inside of them all along.
and it seems that that two extra kobolds *were* hatched from dragon’s eggs, might just not have the oomph/power/skill/emotions to bring out the thing..
also, Mac, welcome to the real world!
Might be a fluke. Close the door and see if you can do it again.
That is a truly glorious mustache Mac is sporting in that final panel
Whoa King Marth called it
Just one question, Mac.
After unloading that frustration, how light do you feel?
very light
Lara: Becomes a Drider
Mac: Becomes a Dragon
Kamau: Becomes the Emperor
This made me laugh, but it does make me wonder what Kamau will get from his bond dungeon. I don’t think LSN would just give him a prosthetic or have him regrow his arm or anything like that, but these Bond dungeons do seem to have a sort of ‘transformative’ theme to them. I think that in Kamau’s case, it will be more of a mental change than a physical one like some of the others are getting.
My current guess is that it’ll let him tap into his spirit-sword ability at-will instead of as part of his various attack abilities. Or maybe his Remorse will strengthen him in some way, making it more of a ‘high-risk, high-reward’ mechanic now that the we don’t have to worry about his Bond points.
If anyone’s bond dungeon makes them an emperor, it would be Amad’s
I was making a joke, as Lara’s big enemy was Spider Goddess, and Mac’s was dragons.
