Dungeon 15 Turn 3
————

Ricki returns and disarms the trapped chest on the left side of the room (throwing away her thieves’ tools afterwards), which Sue then loots. She finds a wand of venomous barrage, which may not be much use based on how things are looking so far, but it’d be worth even less if it has expended itself by activating the trap, so that’s something!
Lara and Amadeusz engage the enemies on the right side of the room. Amadeusz easily crushes the purple widow spider with one claw, but not before it bites him. That plus another volley of poison magic deals 1 total poison damage to him. Lara then knocks out the arachnomancer. She picks up the shield he’d been using, but the spider doesn’t drop anything.
Ricki goes back to the entrance room. From there, she heads down the hallway once guarded by a spider, to the room behind the entrance. There she finds…

“Ho ho!”
“It seems you have stumbled in the CHALLENGE GROUNDS of none other than I!”
“PET MASTER!!”
“How are you just hanging out in the arachnomancer’s temple?!”
“You’re not even hidden!”
“Of course PET MASTER is here!”
“This is a prime place to find RARE SPIDER PETS!”
“I can teach you all about them… in a PET DUEL!”
Plan: Leg day
Ricki: Ignore him. He’s just trying to get attention. Move Right. Move down. Move left and destroy the web.
Lara: Move left with Ricki and attack the Killer Spider.
Amad: Move left with Ricki and Squish a Tiny Spider.
Sue: Move Left with Ricki and Throw your shocktail at the Tiny Spider.
We should be able to loot and run before the T5 respawn. After that, we have an awesome plan for the Drider leg later.
Won’t the priest rise as a drider next turn? Shouldn’t we wait to see if they can attack immediately after rising?
Edit: And one more thing. This is the first dungeon we face that the enemies respawn that frequently and so early. Maybe the best way to engage here is clear a path and never go back, so we don’t have to fight the same spider over and over.
Monsters typically can’t attack/be interacted with on the same turn they spawn. Like the Bookworm in the Manor Dungeon or the angry spirits from the broken tomb.
Rough idea is T4 spiders squished, so we loot and leave room before they come back. We can also loot the chest we just cleared before the spider comes back. a Single Drider can only hurt Sue if we let it (and she has dodge), so as long as we’re not engaging more than one group we’ll be fine. No worries.
We have the baby tyrant! It’s time to D-d-d-d-d-duel!
Would be nice, but right now it’s a losing battle. That purple widow that attacked Wolf did 6 damage. The Petmaster’s purple widow also has some gear on it, so it’s probably stronger in some way. Not worth fighting the Petmaster unless we find/buy a potion of poison resistance.
