Dungeon 14 Turn 50
————

The party gathers and focuses their attacks against the remaining dragon rider. They are narrowly able to bypass the salveshell’s healing powers and defeat him! Only the tortoise remains.
During a minor break in the battle, the lovely dwarven maiden presents Ricki with a small cake that she baked earlier. Happy third anniversary!
Sue might be experienced far more than we think. She knows things. She knows what’s needed the most at the moment. She got eyebrowrise from Ricky in the middle of a battle.
Say what you want. Sue’s going to get a solid nomination for an award for the most useful not-yet-playable not-in-party AI-driven character so far.
(not a plan) Ricky, blow the candles. Watch out and don’t overdo it so Sue doesn’t end up with cake/cream on her. Or do it. Fanservice. Sue will understand. You don’t have to. It’s complicated.
(not a plan) Sue, don’t be mad if/when Ricky gives the cake to someone else. 3 HP doesn’t often materializes out of thin air. Smile and shine with pride, whatever happens.
(not a plan) Mac, be amazed how Sue managed to, apparently, bake a cake in the dungeon without an oven, or, keep a cake intact in her dress pocket. Take notes. Start researching rings-of-holding.
(not a plan) Kamau, keep those wide eyes of yours glowing. Stare at Ricky and the cake alternately. Don’t say anything. Just keep staring until she yields.
Happy dungeon-day everyone! Thanks for awesome journey LSN!
Plan: turtle power
Kamau: use holy water and attack turtle with your attack rings
Mac: throw the shocktail with atatl at turtle
Ricki: attack turtle with swiftblade.
Botania: mend Daisy
Daisy: attack turtle
We can 2 turn kill turtle if we use holy water and Daisy. Debuffed turtle does 4 and so Botania is mending Daisy so she doesn’t die.
‘Enemies’ page says Turtle has Atk=5, Botanya’s beatiful scent adds -1 Atk, and as other mounts here, the Turtle has Domesticollar that adds -2 Atk. Collar’s info says “-2 atk until end of dungeon, when it freakishly absorbed, and after that gives +1 Atk”, but here, I guess, the process clearly wasn’t finished – the Domesticollars are even dropped at end of combat.
I think we can assume it’s not fully active, and the Turtle ends up doing measly 2 Atk.
Botanya can’t add anymore attack I think, unless she spawned another little plant, and unless that plant can immediately attack, which I kinda doubt. So there’s no point in not mending Daisy even if Turtle has lower Atk. Spending action on Mending Daisy is not wasted, Daisy is at 3, so she might even end up getting fully healed as result.
But, if the DCollar doesn’t -2Atk and somehow does +1Atk due to different coditions, dungeon magic, enemy-vs-plot, etc, then Turtle would end up doing 5Atk, and Doggo may be gone.
Oh wait! Does Botanya still have that HealingRobe? She will then Mend Daisy for 2HP instead, and in the worst case when Turtle targets Doggy and at the same time tricky DCollar does +1Atk instead of -2, Daisy will end up at +1HP. Yay!
edit: geesh, “atlatl at turtle”, how do you even pronounce that xD
“Oh wait! Does Botanya still have that HealingRobe? She will then Mend Daisy for 2HP instead, and in the worst case when Turtle targets Doggy and at the same time tricky DCollar does +1Atk instead of -2, Daisy will end up at +1HP. Yay!”
That works this turn, but Botonya can’t mend if Daisy starts at four (full) hp, so if the turtle doesn’t attack Daisy this turn then next turn it could one-shot Daisy. Fortunately if the turtle attacks at all it means it gets less healing, so we’ll just have to remember that we don’t need Daisy to join in in that case. That leaves the only possible risk being if the turtle has the +1, chooses to self heal this turn, yet decides to attack Daisy next turn. Seems very unlikely.
According to “current party” page, Daisy is currently at 3 HP out of 4, so Mend should work right now just fine?Aah, I see, you’re saying about the next turn, provided we Mend Daisy now.
Yes and no. If Daisy is at full 4 HP, and 1 Def, then Turtle should not do anything to her with Botanya -1atk and turtle’s DCollar -2atk. But if the collar is actually +1atk, then yeah, we’d have a dead doggo.
Feed the cake to the turtle
Plan: Fight Tortoise, no need for Holy Water
Ricki: Blow out your candles and make a wish. The wish being to stab that turtle.
Kamau: Salivate at the thought of eating cake off the ground like a mongrel. Stab that turtle.
Mac: Throw your Shocktail at that turtle.
Botanya: Hold your Torch and a wand of Mend. Mend Daisy. Debuff Turtle.
Daisy & Cordyfive: Bash the Turtle.

Based on D14T3, the Domesticollars reduce the Dragon’s Atk by 2 just like they do to our pets.
Kamau had 12 Defense there, the Dragon Rider did 9 (3 Base + 2 Longsword + 2 Ring + 2 Mounted Buff) and the Salavamander did 5 (7 Base – 2 Domesticollar) for 14, which resulted in 2 damage to Kamau. This means the Tortoise here only has 2 Atk after Botanya’s debuff.
It should be safe for our pets to get involved without risking death or damage, and with all our powers combined we can 2 Turn KO the salveshell without expending any resources.
Ricki 11 + Kamau 16 (he has Heroic Effort) + Mac 8 + Daisy 3 + Shroom 1 = 39 damage
Salveshell has 15 Def + 8 Self Heal + 3 Regen = 26 Effective Defense
We net 13 damage on them, bringing them to 12 HP, and we can repeat the attack next turn to kill.
so they are in fact -2atk for them, too, yay math&science!
Edit or add a note to make it clear that you want Ricki to actually attack? A GM might interpret the current wording to mean that you just want her to blow out the candles and fantasize.
While the chameleon was cool, I’m a little sad the light dragon wasn’t TzitziYaku-like.
I wonder what he’ll drop owo
Well.. it lost its head, so I guess, it was “weak point” and “breakable” xD
Me too! All this talk of domesticollars got me worried that he would drop nothing, but looking back to T46 I see he wasn’t wearing one. Armor of invisibility could be extremely useful.
