Dungeon 14 Turn 10
————
Ricki and Kamau descend to follow Botanya (who seems mildly put out by this for some reason). Kamau bravely (and carcinogenically) attacks the kobolds, defeating the two in front and dealing minor damage to the red-robed dragon tamer. He also dodges most of their attacks, including roiling bolt of darkest obsidian coming from the black-robed cultists in the back.
The fire dragon tamer, however, does not attack. She instead pulls out another tyrant horn and sounds it! The noise echoes through the dungeon, and is answered from somewhere down below as well.
Ricki investigates with a magic lens over one magic eye, and spies a baby tyrant lizard, no doubt the offspring of the largest specimen she and her friends already saw outside.
Kamau discards the empty carton of cigarettes.
Macadamia carefully fits the domesticollar around Golly’s neck. The mule is usually pretty chill with whatever, but a little extra training couldn’t hurt.

TYRANT LIZARD
HP: 10
Atk: 3
Def: 3
Ability: attacks deal unblockable damage
Drops: 1 Tyrant Fang
These black-scaled reptiles, though nearly human-sized, are still only juveniles. They’ve been imbued with the element of death before hatching. They are always hungry and attack anything they perceive which looks like it might be food, favouring anything that fits in their mouth in one piece. If they hear the sound of one of their own nearby, they will call out to make the sound of distress carry farther. An adult will come running if it hears this sound.
Plan: finish kobolds
Kamau: interpose.
Ricki: point out traps to everyone again. attack black kobold. Pick up black robe if it drops.
Mac: move down. Avoid traps and stab red kobold in melee. Pick up horn that drops
Botania: avoid traps and flip the lever. See if you can break it once it has been flipped.
Plant: attack the black kobold with Ricki
Daisy attack black kobold with Ricki.
We know 11 DMG takes down a cultist and that Kamau hurt the red one. Mac can finish it himself and Ricki and plant can take the other. Included Daisy just in case they have rings.
I’m surprised that black kobold could do unlockable. But maybe that’s the robes power.
Breaking the lever is for science. Could be useful if it works
Is there any advantage to doing this instead of having Kamau cleave to finish them while Mac and Ricki do their own things?
Not a lot of options right now. While we move back to miners, Ricki and mac have the move to pick up items/trade or loot that scorpion chest. Flipping the lever now lets us confirm what it does so we can change plans if need be
Soo.. the baby tyrant responds to the horn. If we let it loose, it will soon run towards us to some group we dared to attack. On the other hand, Mac+horn allows us to strategically displace him, IF we find a safe spot for Mac to hide (but then, how does he ever get out?), or IF we find a circular route where we can run in circles (doubtful, no Dig yet, but maybe rat-hole-tunnels can help?).
Blow our own tyrant horn. Show dominance.
Good idea. We should give the horn to Sue and ask her to blow it as hard as she can up there, right at the dungeon’s entrance, for at least 20 turns, and a fairy will show up!
I’m guessing Mama will be headed in this direction soon. Should we be hiding?
Why are you already assigning that gender stereotype to the Tyrant? Maybe you’re hurting their feelings. We should ask them first and ask how they feel! Sue is good at talking, she’ll understand, best candidate for the task 😀
Jokes aside, I feel dumb for considering the young-one to be the Mom, the one outside is waaay bigger, even just considering the size of the corridor prepared for the event. Even one egg is like 80% of its head, so either the Tyrant laid the eggs, or there might be a second adult one lurking here.
Could still be a single father with the Cultists somehow supplying the eggs 😉
Stretchy!
