Dungeon 13 Turn 29
————
Cordy, Amadeusz, and Lara and head towards the next big fight. Cordy’s a bit behind, so Amadeusz and Lara continue on without them.
Lara opens the chest and finds a greater healing potion, but leaves it where it is. She then accidentally falls through a pit trap and takes 1 unblockable damage, and is subsequently beaten on by a pile of guards. Despite one of them seeming uncharacteristically competent, and the justiciar debuffing her with -3 Atk and -3 Def, she takes no further damage. She walks back up to the top of the room afterwards.
Ricki notices that the two winter wolves all of a sudden seem cowed for some reason (its because of Amadeusz), and uses the opportunity to pop open the chest. She finds two magic lenses, which she picks up in favour of her enchantment scroll and staff. She then leaves the room to the right.
Roll with the punches
Ricki: case the chest with microwave
Lara: walk into melee, sting an incompetent guard. Point Cordy to the buffed one
Amad: help Lara finish her target
Cordy & mushies 44, 47, 48, 49: poison punch the buffed guard
Nekpots plan, but we use a lens instead since we prob won’t carry them out and have few targets of repeat enemies left.
Ricki: move up to middle floor by chest. Use lens on the dark blue magicrow.
Lara: walk into melee, sting an incompetent guard. Point Cordy to the buffed one
Amad: help Lara finish her target
Cordy & mushies 44, 47, 48, 49: poison punch the buffed guard
Hope they have no hidden def
Ricki: move up to middle floor by chest. Use lens on the dark blue magicrow
Cordy & mushie 45: poison touch buffed guard (13-14 atk)
Amad & muhsie 47: claw unbuffed guard (10 atk)
Lara & mushies 44, 48, 49: using shield, sting another unbuffed guard (6 atk)
Deals 4 damage to another guard, at the cost of not overkilling. They probably don’t have rings so it should be fine.
based on NeKpoT plan, but with extra style.
Ricki: lens dark blue crow, end turn by 3-lock chest
Cordy & mushie 45: poison touch buffed guard (13-14 atk+1)
Amad & muhsie 47: claw unbuffed guard (10 atk+1)
Lara: using shield, sting another unbuffed guard (3 atk+1)
mushies 44, 48, 49: attack mushie 45 (+1 unblockable damage to all guards and Justicar, we spawn a new mushie)
I’m using 44, 48 and 49 rather than 45 and 47 due to concerns about friendly fire not being allowed;
we get free damage on Justicar and 3rd guard doesn’t really matter, he will be overkilled next turn anyway (or next next turn of we focus Justicar);
and most importantly, Justicar has a dodge chance. that 1 dmg means next turn we are marginally less likelly to get X-com’ed;
we might also get a cool panel from LSN 😉
and we get points for style!
Ricki: Case the triple-locked chest.
Lara: Keep wielding your Tower Shield. Sting the Guard that suplexed you (the one with +3 Atk/Def)
Amadeusz: Jump over the gap in the floor and attack the same guard that Lara stings.
Cordy: Head down, jump over the gap in the floor and Spore Touch a different guard.
2 Mushies: Help Lara and Amadeusz take down the buff guard.
1 Mushy: Help Cordy take down his guard.
–
This gets 14 damage on the buffed Guard, which should only take 13 to kill.
This gets 11 damage on another Guard, which should only take 10 to kill.
If they all gang up on Lara, she suffers 2 damage. if Cordy, he takes 3 damage. If Amadeusz, he takes 6 damage.
I don’t think there’s a good reason to lens one of the magicrows. We sorta get what they do already, no? They have 1 hp, have a 30% chance to dodge because theyre flying and cast a different spell depending on their eye color. There’s a variety of them, like the wisps and dragon tamer kobolds, and they didn’t tell us what element each one was, so I doubt it will give us much if any details on what spell a specific Magicrow casts, which would be the only reason to lens them other than lore bits. Was of a lens imo.
I want to know if lensing enemies with items being part of their bodies show information about that item, might be usefull in the future.
I don’t remember if we learn the stats of the item immediately, but at least we learn the fact and the drop rate. See descriptions of Rats (%chance for a drop: tail) and Solar Guardians (%chance for a drop: solar armor).
Lara: go back down and apologize to those guards for falling on them.
Ok, Lara proved the point. No pointing-out-traps through the walls then.
