Dungeon 12 Turn 3
————
Ricki, Lara, and Cordy attack the group of plague rats. Each of them takes out one, with Cordy using their Spore Touch ability to cause a new mushroom to sprout (which can be kept or sent to another party member). However, the mushroom that sprouted last turn gets eaten by the fourth rat, seemingly without even causing it any damage.
While that’s happening, Amadeusz descends the ladder (including the extra-sturdy rung which will never, ever, EVER collapse) and inspects the moss growing on the wall at the bottom of the room. He recognizes it as oxymoss, which should be helpful later. He manages to gather two clumps of moss from this growth before depleting it. He then descends to the room below.
Amadeusz can’t see anything in this room, either. He wonders why the party members who can’t see in the dark always end up exploring the darkest areas.

OXYMOSS
Consumable
Enriched with oxygen. When about to take damage from staying underwater too long, one clump of moss will automatically be eaten instead to prevent the damage.
Weight 1 (Stack 3), Cost 7
Good to know we have consumables to help prevent damage. Looks like we’ll still need to be efficient with our actions though.
Lots of options, so be prepared for choices.
Plan: Scout, mushroom, loot and lens
Lara: Move left, down and then scout left.
Amad: Loot chest you cant see next to you
Cordy: Spore Touch last Rat.
Ricki: Move down, Lens Frog
Ricki has full inventory so we need to use a lens and it would be good to know the frog stats so we can plan accordingly (the last one went for ricki despite being attacked by Lara so it has special AI)
Next turn, lara can rejoin group and we can start moving towards Source with her help.
Barricade is going to take a lot of actions to clear so I’m not really for it unless we have downtime actions.
Also, Cyx would have been nice to loot those bottom chests but o well…
Just to clarify: In game terms, this means ending your turn underwater, correct?
Yes. Either by having explored a new room, or fighting underwater in melee (provided we cant lure them to the surface)
Plan2: Moss, mushroom, loot and lens
Lara: Loot the moss on the wall behind rats. Move left after
Amad: Loot chest you cant see next to you
Cordy: Spore Touch last Rat.
Ricki: Move down, Lens Frog
Same idea as plan above but we delay scouting with Lara since she is our main swimmer and will be taking the most dmg that way. Getting moss helps that way.
Next turn, Lara can scout and Ricki, Amad, and Cordy can work on Barricade I guess. Or we delay scouting again and just start with frog.
I just hope that eating oxy-moss doesn’t turn anyone into an oxy-moron..

Not a plan, just random ideas
Personally, I have no idea what this violet-smoke-on-a-mushroom-thing actually is. It could be a mushroom/spore/etc that spews out poison, or it could be a hole in the wall that the poinson pours out from. Maybe Ricky could focus on it for a moment and discuss it with the Party. If we know at least something about it, we may guess what we need to do to shut it down. Right now, we know nothing, except it’s underwater and it’s probably poison-related, right?
The weapons that the skeletons have seem to be jagged/toothed spears. The direction of the teeth is backwards, for pulling&ripping the flesh. But with some imagination, it could be used as a grappling pole (hook pole, pole with a hook, for catching and pulling rigid things to oneself). I mean, if we had those, we could pull some of the monsters out of the water, and maybe deactivate them (fishbone-piranhas, no water = no swimming = kinda paralyzed) or even suffocate them (living puffer fish). But I dont know if that would be more action/time efficient than just killing them.
Those Harpoons most likely do not provide a penalty to attack underwater at the very least.
They could also prevent movement as you suggested. We do have rope and could try combining them if we felt like we had the turns to do so.
Ricki: Head down, Lens the frog.
Lara: Loot the Oxymoss and head down.
Amadeusz: Loot the chest.
Cordy: Spore Touch the Plague Rat.
Mushy 11: Stay with Cordy. Shroom Strong Together.
Everyone drop their weapons and armor. Let’s show these rats they don’t scare us.
Amy, take that sturdy ladder rung. It could be useful later. Hack it off with your sword if need be, don’t worry about damages to the ladder, I’m sure it will hold.
