Dungeon 11 Turn 8

Kamau and Amadeusz begin the battle against the golem. Kamau charges straight in and deals some fair damage through sheer Heroic Effort. Amadeusz attempts to use the pipes to cause the golem’s attack to miss, but unfortunately it doesn’t work and Kamau takes another 1 damage.
Even though the effect doesn’t trigger, and even though he doesn’t take his mask off, Amadeusz sounds a lot better than Botanya on these things.
Ricki and Macadamia head left to try and figure out what happened with that pigeon. Coincidentally, they arrive at the same time as a patrol of guards. The respawned rats stand between them, but maybe not for long.
Mac gives the ring he just made to Ricki.
Guards will take a turn to kill rats.so we can wait for them to come to us. Also, they may wander into bugs which would be awesome.
Plan: finish golem, clean up and explore

Ricki: move right, attack golem
Amad: stay back and pipe golem
Mac: move right, pickup cake, rope and wand. Explore down
Next turn we have keys and 2 chests to loot. After that we’ll see if guards followed us into this room or if they went to bugs. we can deal with them then

There is no reason for them to go to the bugs. Likely the pigeons are coded with a preset message so they know where the bird came from.
I’d assume that the guards know where the pidgeon came from and will go to the spot where we fought. This probably also means we need to pick up our stuff within the next few turns
I agree that they probably will come to us. But I want to check if that’s true and also get the chests to help buff us

BUT, I’m now wondering if we should have Amadeusz use the pipes to play a Dirge, because doing that will teach us if the pipes and the character’s musical abilities stack AND it may damage whatever monster we might find under those beds.
Yes, dirge may also do nothing against the (eventual) monsters under the beds, as they might as well be invulnerable until we actually check the beds and make them pop out.
I think Amadeusz should lay the pipe down on the Golem, but shouldn’t use his hurtful dirge. We only get 2 of them per dungeon, would like to make them count. Like in another room in this dungeon, there’s 3 Messenger Pigeons right next to an open ledge. If they were to escape, they’d probably call in 3 armed guards EACH. We need to take them down with Dirge when we get to that room.
Isn’t that going to result in 1 remorse for Kamau (because Ricki is in the golems AoE)?

By the way, have we figured out the puzzle chest? It looks to be like it’s the blood rats.
