“Yeah. Two dungeons, actually.”
“I figured. This coin here is a boon straight from a god. They almost never show up outside of dungeons these days.”
“I’m more than happy to take it off your hands, Ricki, but you might want to think about hanging on to it. These boons are one of a kind, often as not. Up to you, though.”
“Of course, if you’re gonna be heading into dungeons on the regular, maybe soon enough you’ll have more than you know what to do with. Is that the plan?”
“Well… I DID get a lot of stuff from dungeoneering already. And there’s still two dungeons right here in Goblintown, aren’t there?”
“Yep. The old chapel and that block of kobold warrens.”
“I mean, I’ve already been to the warrens a few times. And now I’ve got Kamau to protect me from the dangerous stuff!”
“Ricki, I don’t know. We had a real close call back there. We already got the food you wanted, isn’t that enough?”
“That’s the thing about food, big guy. Sooner or later, you always need more of it.”
“…Yeah, okay. I get it. If you DO decide to go to another dungeon, you can count on me to go with you.”
“Yay! Thanks, Kamau!”
“Ow.”
Didn’t expect ya to be such an enabler, new gob.
Hmm, that casts the side quest there in a new light. The God of Revelry took notice and smiled upon us for going out of our way to heal a poisoned partier. I had wondered how they managed to cough up a coin that dissolves in alcohol given their expected stomach contents.
The smile was delivered through vomit, but that’s what good deeds tend to smell like when you’re taking care of drunk people.
Reminder that the coin of revelry is a unique reward. Of course, it’s also a consumable and we’re unlikely to find large supplies of alcohol in the chapel (maybe sacramental wine) or warrens (who knows what kobolds drink). If we could buy something persistent with that cash then I don’t mind giving it up.
The Kofi previews had a mouth door and an abandoned building, which don’t quite match a chapel or warrens. From ordering though, I’ll guess that the Drow is connected to a spider chapel and the many eyed kobold has people calling that abandoned building a warren. Not too happy with the latter interpretation though, hopefully some more hints. My vote is to look for the Drow.
One of a kind? It’s a relic?
Eh, that sounds great but it’s a consumable one-use item. Unless you’re supposed to show it to get into the God of Revelry’s temple or something, in which case the item description really should say something about that. It’s good but it’s not great, and it gets destroyed when used anyway – why not use it to gain +10 gold instead of +2 Atk? Combined with the mugs that’s enough to get a leather armour and +1 Def, which is critical considering Ricki’s frail build. And the +1 Def doesn’t go away, unlike the +2 Atk.
So…chapel or kobolds? Kobolds sound like there are a ton of traps in there, and Ricki needs a whole backpack full of thieves’ tools to loot a place like that. I say chapel, probably undead there.
For what’s it worth, I’m voting for chapel and probably the Drow inside, just like KingMarth wrote. There’s a certain possibility of her becoming another team member, and that would drastically improve things (think about the difference Kamau did).
also, with larger team, I wonder if we can raise Kamau’s remorse limit.. it’s about total damage over the whole team. Raising DEF or evasion may be critical here actually.
Forgot to mention from the Dungeon 2 wrap up stream: Both of the next available dungeons have a potential team member and we will eventually be able to get both (the wording suggesting that we might get caught up temporarily after our third dungeon). Also we definitely will get a proper shopping option here. I didn’t bother bringing it up because I thought it would be clearer. This isn’t picking a dungeon with ally over a dungeon without ally, this is picking which potential ally to pursue first.
Back to personal predictions: Kamau’s Remorse will almost definitely stay as it is. New party members will either have their own heavy restrictions or they’ll have stats far closer to Ricki than to Kamau. Provided we get that far, Ricki can take at most 3 allies into each Dungeon, and Remorse is the main reason why we might want to leave Kamau on the bench. Especially if leaving the dungeon stops Kamau from leveling up or advancing Bond. The one thing I could see removing restrictions is the personal story Dungeon unlocked at bond 3 and 6, hopefully we’ll see what those are like soon.
Also, we have a Rogue and a Fighter, so a Cleric and Wizard would round out the traditional party. Both of the new options also look pretty fragile, so while even Ricki alone while malnourished had more HP to spend than we had Remorse, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to be careful with new potential friends.
