Dungeon 15 Turn 34

Ricki and Lara join Amadeusz and Sue in the weird room. Lara briefly distracts the two remaining spiders there, which Amadeusz and Sue then easily dispatch. Lara then takes the webbed morsel from Ricki (not to eat, she promises) and climbs to the right side of the room to finally explore what’s on the other side.
On the other side, she finds an unpleasant sensation of deja vu.
It’s a gargantula. Not a juvenile, just a full-fledged giant poisonous sin-against-nature apex arachnid.
Lara grapples with some unhappy memories.
Princess calls for his mommy.
WE NEED A PLAN. AND PROBABLY A LENS.
Or to subdue a very big spider.
Subdue!
Plan: webs
Lara: subdue the Gargantula with morsel. Move left after and down to web hallway.
Ricki: point out ladder trap to everyone. move down. Point out webs to everyone. Tell Daisy to STAY. Pass through webs and move right. case the high priestess.
Wolf: move down. Destroy as many webs as you can.
Sue: throw the shocktail through a web and see if you can break a different one.
Princess, 47 and golly: work together and destroy another web.
Gets us eyes on last room, a 2/3 chance of casing priestess and we see what happens with docile spider. Also testing how shocktail works through webs
I was for a moment considering if we should ask Lara to use her skill to subdue it. After all, “unpacking” the morsel might be beneficial, and it’s not very likely that we’ll find another place in this dungeon that will call for use of that skill..
But then. there’s this place with 6 wolf spiders, which will probably have something close to 18dmg in total if they have just +1 for the spider idol.. 6x is a big multiplier.
And there’s high chance that this kinda-BOSS is divinely-IMMUNE to any ‘subduing’, especially considering its origin and place, and .. Lara fumbling with the morsel will take a full hit right on the next turn. Small garg does 10 poison, so it’s not unthinkable that large garg might do 20 in one hit. Should be safe. But maybe in fact let’s keep Lara on high health and maybe it’s better to use morsel than 5HP.. Lara’s not at full health after all
I suspect that the patrol of spiders on t40 would be this big boy.
Imagine having to chase the priestess around the dungeon with this guy moving back and forth in the middle.
I also don’t think making it docile will work for very long. But we just need to be able to lens it safely first
It doesnt have immunity cuz Lara subdued one before.
I do think Claudious is right that it can shake it off after a bit tho.
dont think wolf spiders are a problem. They have 2 base+1 dungeon buff for 3 atk so if we give Ricki a little more defense they would need all 6 to get past her 60% dodge to hurt her at all. Someone smarter can math it out but I’m pretty sure that’s way less than 1%.
Or maybe Amad’s debuff work on them and they are no threat at all.

I’m scared Claudious is right that there is a time limit on docile so doing research now to make sure subdue is not wasted.
Also don’t wanna risk high priestess spotting Ricki and starting to rally enemies like her lens said. A lot of people seems to want to fight garg and it would be super bad if she was rallying while we did that.
Ricki: Point ladder trap so everyone avoids it. Move down. Point webs and destroy web 1.
Daisy: Destroy web 2.
Amad: Move down. Destroy web 3.
Mushie: Destroy web 4.
Lara: Flee left. Grab Sue. Move right with her from ceiling. Subdue gargantula without morsel.
Sue: Get carried right. Research gargantula.
Other details:
LSN said on discord Lara don’t get the make it count buff if we use morsel so not using it now cuz I think extra damage is real nice to have no matter if we go for garg kill or just high priestess. We have a big healing potion to heal Lara back to full.
Research is ranged and subdue is room wide anyway so using ceiling just in case it helps somehow. Maybe its too fat to climb?
The one thing is he worried about is that when we subdue, it still gets an attack.
So we’d be taking 5dmg in addition to whatever Gargantula can do which we don’t know.

That’s a better example than the manor one. The manor ones says she was still attacked but that’s because she tamed it from a group

Just ignore the Gargantula since it seems stuck in there.
