Dungeon 15 Turn 29
————

The party travels as a group to a new leg of the dungeon. Ricki runs through the enemies guarding the hallway, cutting through a spider web on her way. Lara attempts to distract the enemies with her spider idol (no she doesn’t why would she do that she must keep the idol safe keep it safe keep it safe), but it seems the arachnomancer is immune to its lure, and the gargantula follows his orders above its instincts. Ricki is attacked by both of them, but dodges the arachnomancer’s attack and successfully deflects the gargantula with her magma shield.
Amadeusz then charges in and attacks the arachnomancer. That plus Sue’s supporting short from the back of the hall is enough to knock him out.

Ricki proceeds to the next room, and finally finds the end of the dungeon. She doesn’t find much else of note in this hallway, but sees someone interesting in the hallway below. That must be the arachnomancer high priestess. Defeating her should be enough to call this dungeon done.
Plan: Attack
Lara: Attack Gargantula with Venom Blade (9 dmg, yay new gloves ^_^)
Sue: Throw Shocktail at Spider and loot plate(in golly, replacing sword), helmet and anything not mentioned.
Wolf: Attack Gargantula with Claws (14 dmg) and loot sword and shield
Ricki: lens the High Priestess.
Edit: Kat’s plan but with the pets not attacking and Sue attacking instead.
Why Lara loot glands? Sue has gland stack.
also Sue lacks the space for sword, shield, helmet AND armor that will drop anyway.
Hey! The imp is back. Lets make a pact this time around.
Edit: btw, excellent “you can’t have it” face on Lara.
This all but confirms that there are 8 braziers, of which we have only destroy 3 in 30 turns. Not a good sign.
Also, Tank Lara is not viable here so we probably need her to give her Siegesword back (or at least some attack rings)
My current theory is that the Boss will teleport as soon as we engage her group. So we need to make sure we hit her hard so we only have to chase her a few times.
It may be a good idea clear non-spiders from braziers to make engaging the boss there easier after she arrives. Still means visiting all 5 braziers though…
Also, a solid NOPE to the demon. We’re screwed enough already lets not play with fire anymore.
Plan: Slightly improved attack
Garg needs only 23 to kill and will focus Lara without the arachnomancer to order otherwise.
Loot to avoid having the drider respawn with his gear cuz we can loot before new spawns joins the battle(D13T32).
Lara: Attack Gargantula with Venom Blade (9 dmg, yay new gloves ^_^)
Sue: Mend Daisy and loot plate(in golly, replacing sword), helmet and anything not mentionned.
Wolf: Attack Gargantula with Claws (14 dmg) and loot sword and shield
Mushie and Princess: Attack garg (extra dmg just to be sure)
Ricki: Move left to get Daisy in range of Sue then move right to lens the High Priestess.
I am worried our assumption that spider will go for Lara is wrong. We could lose Princess or Daisy.
Also, Ricki cant move after Daisy attacks. You’d have to have Ricki lens then move
Its not an assumption, it literally says right there on the page it wants to hit Lara and only didnt cuz arachnomancer.
Daisy is not attacking, Ricki is just passing by there so she’s a valid target for mending.
Apologies. I misread which pets were attacking and didn’t notice the instincts line above. I
To be honest, I see the ‘instincts’ line, but I don’t see how it tells us Garg wants to attack Lara. All it says us is that Garg has some urge to attack someone else but focuses on Ricky due to Arachnomancer’s order.
A simple way to misread the situation is – just a moment ago Lara actively tried to <lure> the enemies with the idol. Now she’s just attacking. If the idol indeed somehow has hidden aggro trait and automatically lures all the spiders, it will focus on Lara. Otherwise, Lara is not actively trying to aggro the spider like the turn before, so the spider will do whatever its ‘instinct’ tells it to – maybe even eating the mushie- or doggo-flavored snack.
Maybe we should exclude mushie and doggo, and ask Sue to attack the Garg instead.. she still will be able to loot&shuffle inventory, and heal Daisy next turn when we’re moving around or kicking the
bucketerm magic brazierTwo small observations
That red bat thing looks friendly and unique. I bet it’s a new party member. Let’s go recruit them.
