Dungeon 15 Turn 25
————

Ricki and Lara again work together to destroy a poison brazier, successfully tanking the damage it deals. Afterwards, Ricki and Daisy crawl through the nearby tunnel while Lara, Sue, and Amadeusz leave the room via the hallway.

Ricki ends up in a crawlspace between the walls, with more spiders blocking her way. She decides not to proceed in this direction right now, and backtracks to join the rest of the party (and warn them about traps, those helpless fools).
Amadeusz eats more meat, while Sue heals him with the wand of mend. Amadeusz recovers 5 HP.
Lara continues on all the way back to the entrance.

Nothing new to see here.
What are the chances that summoned spiders are piling up in a corridor with a brazier somewhere in the dungeon?
Turn 0 text says Highpriestess is summonig spiders every 5 turns, not that she is replacing defeated spiders in the corridors they originally were.
The exact phrasing is :Every 5 turns, the Arachnomancer High Priestess will replenish some defeated spiders. On turn 40 and beyond, she’ll start summoning additional spiders to hunt the party
I think it is important to note that the t5 event refers to spiders being “Replenished” and the t40 even refers to “Summoning”.
Given that the only spiders that we’ve seen replenished have been existing ones we’ve defeated, I think it is safe to assume they are not piling up anywhere. So far we haven’t seen any spiders replenish that have been away from a brazier either (like the ones in the main chamber haven’t come back despite it being t25 now)
Plan: Prep
Ricki: Point out the ladder trap to the party. Move right and case the Arachnomancer.
Sue: Avoid Ladder trap and move right. Use a lens on the Miniature Giant Spider.
Wolf: Avoid ladder trap and move right. Eat more meat.
Lara: Avoid Ladder trap and move right. Wait for now.
Not optimal for Lara but we dont want to engage without a lens first. That arachnomancer alone takes 20 to one shot and does at least 10dmg.
Both options last page are almost tied so making a post for both.
If we want to sell idol, I think we should do it ASAP so we can fight without Amad getting dogpiled again
Ricki: Move up to show ladder trap to Sue. Drop a lockpick near Paws(for space). Move down. Show floor trap to Lara. Move left(upper, avoiding trap). Equip dodge ring. Loot chest. Move to the right end of the room, away from spiders.
Sue: Avoid trap pointed by Ricki. Summon Paws. Move right to drop 1 lens so someone not trading next turn can lens the big spider.
Amad: Eat meat.
Lara: Move left(upper, avoiding trap). Switch to sword and shield and attack a killer spider to distract it from Ricki.
Next turn we can do mass trade between party and Paws to buy/sell stuff and rearrange inventory except for 1 person to go lens big spider.
If we use idol as interpose(thanks Practik for helping me understand the idea), I want more def on Lara.
Also trying a trick to get rid of that ladder trap.
Ricki: Point ladder trap rung. Join group trade to get silk armor, 1 lens.
Lara: Go up. Start a group trade near ladder trap(but don’t cross it) to get +3 def ring, idol. Move down after trading
Princess: While riding Lara, attack the ladder rung pointed by Ricki to destroy it or at least leave obvious bite marks.
Sue: Join group trade to get siegesword, gland, bat armor.
Amad: Join group trade to get +3 atk ring(from Lara).
Lara now has 24 def vs poison and 7 atk.
Next turn Sue mend Daisy, Amad eat, Ricki lens big spider, Lara grab ceiling chest right and come back.
(keeping 2 open slot on Lara so nothing shatter on the floor if ceiling chest has heavy stuff)
I initially down voted because I saw Lara giving up her Siegesword. I still don’t like it, but I see the vision in having her go grab the ceiling chest, so I like this plan.
I am not a fan of the idol tank plan.
Mainly because I don’t think it will work on arachnomancers. If we assume it works like interpose when it doesn’t we could lose someone
Kudos for proposing a plan (on behalf of Discord, I assume) that you weren’t personally in favor of.
Agreed that we would need to proceed with caution. It could definitely be the case that spiders blindly attack the person with the idol, but arachnomancers are smarter than that. And I would guess that driders would behave more like spiders. But those are all just empty speculations until we’ve tested them in combat.
In any case, if the idol turns out to be more trouble than it’s worth, we can always sell it later.
