Dungeon 15 Turn 19
————

The entire party ascends back to the upper room, then travels down the upper left passage to the next battle. Ricki and Amadeusz clear the spider webs that bar the way, while Sue and Lara fight.
Lara uses her most defensive items and smokes the last cigarette in her pack before charging into melee. Both spiders and the arachnomancer attack her, but her poison resistance is so high that she takes no damage. With a deft strike from her venom blade, and a supporting ranged attack from Sue, she defeats the arachnomancer instantly.
Lara still takes 1 damage though. Cigarettes are bad, kids!
Lara: pretend you’re my dad and I’m the dungeon. Abandon it to go get a back of cigarettes.
Alright, how much damage can the brazier take again? This thing needs to be destroyed, and if we put everyone on it, we can’t loot that chest ’til the next turn, especially when there’s a drider on the way. Time’s a-wasting!
I think our estimate is around 15 dmg. But we are unsure if it counters every attacker or just one. Unsure if it can counter ranged as well
Plan: finish them off.
Lara: equip hood and siegesword. Attack spider 1.
Sue: move to the group and use spoiler on the brazier. Be sure to grab the silk armor, venom blade and any glands that drop.
Ricki: attack spider 2. Pick up the arachnohelm that drops
Amad: attack spider 2. Pickup everything left that’s left on the ground.
Given that enemies respawn at the end of turn 20. This should allow us to pickup the drops before the drider can re requip them which will make the next turns easier.
Driders and spiders are easier to split attacks so we won’t be at risk.
Is there a mistery about the braziers? Aren’t they just a mean to spawn the spiders every 5 turns?
I’d rather use Sue’s power on the puzzle chest.
Debate of using it on chests vs braziers is still ongoing.
My thoughts:
Chest is most assuredly kill x spiders and rewards a spider themed item (we can case to find out) Spoiler probably tells us how many.
Braziers do x damage on counters and take x damage to destroy
They respawn spiders (on their row only?) . They may also have other effects related to the dungeon buff or something we haven’t seen yet related to dungeon boss/ completion.
Taking out braziers also helps us achieve kill x spiders regardless.
There’s just a lot more we can learn from braziers and it would be directly related to helping us complete the dungeon which is my main priority.
The puzzle chest may not be related to the number of killed spiders. Puzzle chests have become more and more tricky as the dungeons go. I remenber the rat spawning (in the Imperial Armory?), Poisoned Well and the tomb puzzle chests had more out-of-the-box solutions than “kill x enemies”.
