Intermission 13 Page 20

The journey to the next dungeon is quite a bit longer than Ricki and her friends are used to. The Dragon Factory lies deep in the mountains, far away from any towns or cities. Botanya’s ability to grow edible plants out of barren soil comes in handy more than once as there is so little food to be found.
“Are we sure there’s even a dungeon out here?”
“Paws has never let us down before.”
“I just don’t see how these dragon cultists could possibly be getting enough to eat.”
“Well, if they’re spending all or most of their time in the dungeon, the magic of the place would provide for them.”
“But that’s one of the factors that causes dungeon madness to set in, isn’t it? I’ve always made sure to have access to outside food when I was working.”
“Are we expecting an entire dungeon full of insane kobolds?”
“Based on what they’re supposedly doing, I’d say that’s exactly what we’re expecting.”
“Great…”
“It might not be that bad. If they’re really sending their fake dragons to other dungeons, they must leave at least occasionally.”
“So what are THEY eating?”
“probably all the plants”
“i keep finding dead branches and root structures”
“that means plants can grow here but they get destroyed”
“Probably when the kobolds gather them!”
“no it looks more like they were bitten or chewed”
“By animals, then.”
“We haven’t seen many animals, either.”
“So who’s doing all of the eating?”
“Well I think someone has confessed!”
Seems scary to be poor and homeless and weak here… some would submit to dungeon madness than starve
Man those are some funny looking clouds.
So, a den of herbivores. Good luck Botanya.
