“The Guard grows restless and turns its violence inward during times of peace, so they must be used against external targets.”
“This also requires that the Guard constantly expands.”
“In the elemental world, the Emperor likely imagines he has found a perfect solution.”
“It is a threat that is simultaneously infinitely far away, and yet right on the Empire’s doorstep.”
“It has no organized nations or forces defending it.”
“The magical resources it holds will allow him to empower the Guard beyond what is currently possible.”
“And since the elemental world is infinite in size, his conquest need never end.”
“But make no mistake; a lack of organization is not the same thing as a lack of power.”
“Sooner or later, the elementals will understand their enemy, and our world will end in fire, ice, and lightning.”
Okay, so we may be getting a glimpse of Amadeusz’s motives here (assuming we can actually trust him here of course).
Not wanting your world destroyed by Elementals, because the Emperor wanted to pick a fight in order to keep his empire intact, is pretty reasonable.
Can’t believe Ama disrespected the most powerful element: lots of rocks.
THEY’RE NOT ROCKS THEY’RE MINERALS
Jesus Christ Marie!
Interesting that this doesn’t relate to the magic of dungeons and dungeon eyes though…at least not yet
What if entire Elemental Plane is one ancient dungeon that grew into infinity?
Sad we’re missing cox in October ;’(
I knew that would happen
