Ricki and Kamau meet up, clink weapons, and nod at each other to express mutual determination to succeed. Kamau recovers 3 HP, putting him at 5 currently, while Ricki heals up to full.
A group of guards led by an Elite appear at the bottom of the room.
Amadeusz ponders whether the secondary goal of damaging the dungeon is still viable. However, as they’ve found three load-bearing locations that would need to be destroyed, and they only have one bomb and no known way to make another, the plan seems to be shot. At best they might be able to gain access to some new area.
Ricki passes by on her way to the basement.
After dropping off the gold ring he just found in the basement, Macadamia returns to the locked bedroom and checks under the second bed. He finds nothing but a pair of centipedes. He makes a mental note to check under his bed back at the manor, just in case.

Whatever plan of exit we have, let’s find time to read the note in front of Imp door. This is second time we have seen that character, likelly to be more in future, and i am STARVING for hints.

Special note: if guards did check basement first, then they had to double move to this room which is why they didn’t attack the rats immediately
Have enemies ever “!” When seeing hostile NPCs? They didn’t when seeing the rats on turn 8.
I’m thinking this guy has expanded sight abilities, and sees us. Which means time for a mad dash towards the exit.
I think he just heared the weapons clinking. I could be wrong.
Counterpoint- The elite is the *only* guard to have a red exclamation point, which implies that he’s the only one to be reacting to whatever he’s reacting to. If he’s reacting to the rats, or to the sound of combat from above, why aren’t the others?
Plan: prep for departure.
Ricki: point out traps( ladder and all 5 pressure plates). Avoid traps and read note by imp door. Move left and left again to cells.
Mac: pick up gold ring. Equip def rings if you haven’t already. Avoid traps and move left.
Amad: move down and avoid traps Ricki points out. Read note by cells..
Kamau: stay in rat room but stay up and out of sight of patrol.

We want to avoid being seen as the pigeon will spawn a new patrol instantly. So let’s keep hidden so exit stays clear

Kamau: stay in rat room but stay up and out of sight of patrol.
Ricki: Point out traps to Mac, avoid traps, reed imp door note, avoid traps, then move to the closed panic door and use Dungeon Eyes to look at the top floor of that room.
Amadeusz: Head down to the Kennel and trade with Mac: Give him your two +2 Defense Rings and your Battleaxe and take the Corona from him. Pick up & wear gold ring,
Mac: Move your two Atk Rings to your inventory, give Amadeusz your Corona and take and wear his two +2 Defense Rings. Take the Tower Shield from Golly and wield that. Place the battle axe from Amadeusz on Golly. Avoid traps, head left and hold position by the rat hole.
Next turn: Kamau up & drop your Longsword and pick up the 6x Arrows. Mac&Golly left, up, left: exit the dungeon.
Plan: get Kamau to 21 def, then fight patrol
No point in running if we can win this fight.

Ricki: case elite
Patrol has 19 visible atk, plus maybe some rings. At 5 hp Kamau should be able to tank a turn until we get some of them without spending dauntless.
Next turn: interpose, pets and Mac get bird, Ricki and Ama dispatch a regular guard (3% that bird escapes)

Kamau def breakdown
3 base + 5 plate + 4 shield + 2 helmet + 3 abilities (armor & shield prof, mushroom fren) + 4 rings = 21. +1 from Ama if we need it.
Patrol atk breakdown:
4 Elite (3 hammer + 2 base – 1 shield) + 3×4 guard (2 sword + 1 base + 1 elite buff) + 3 dog (2 base + 1 for human owner) = 19
To what end do we fight? We have no space for loot and do not know if they have potions or rings.
Also, we risk pigeon instantly summoning MORE guard that will block our exit.
Just because we can fight doesn’t mean we should.
Make more bombs out of bedsheets, find out what imp’s deal is, question Ama if we’re going to blow up research as well. Might clear the dungeon if next patrol is t60
Why would the next patrol be T60. That wouldn’t even make sense. Once we hit the soft cap, things tend to come faster and faster. By 1.5x the cap, I would expect that there has already been 1-3 more small consequences (like more patrols of this size), and a big consequence (like a very large patrol or more golems) to start coming in.

Tbh, this can go south if guards go get reinforcements themselves after seeing the bird did not make it

Kamau: Go right. Interpose for Ricki. Go to bottom floor
Amad: Go down. Read imp note while avoiding traps.
Ideas for next turn:

Kamau: Go down to loot trap chest, dropping whatever’s least valuable. Then dauntless to “safely” trigger every single trap so we learn about them.
Mac: Use hole. Go up. WIN!!
