Dungeon 11 Turn 41
————
Macadamia climbs up the hole in the wall and checks under one of the beds. Conveniently, he finds a gold ring! He could make good use of this one day, though he’ll have to study up a bit first. He drops the arrows he’s carrying to make room for the ring, then heads back through the tunnel and emerges back in the kennel room.
Kamau holds off the scorpion while Amadeusz checks under another bed. He finds a greater healing potion, cementing in Kamau’s mind that some people just have all the luck. The two humans then retreat from the angry arachnid and rest on the bottom floor of this room.
Ricki heads left into the mess hall and squeezes through another hole in the wall. She expects a patrol of guards to come walking in, but she doesn’t see anything.

RING, GOLD
Ring
Pretty, but seemingly useless.
Weight 1, Cost 15
They probably went down first. Hold positions until we get eyes on them
Also possible that they decided to unlock the door in the first room to recruit the 2 guards and 2 dogs to the patrol.
So I don’t know if this has been discussed already, but the big bad of this dungeon having a bird seems ominous to me. I’d be concerned it has an observation skill or a communication skill that will make things more difficult for us
My theory is bird flies ahead to scout and reports back. Probably goes through holes as well. That said, if that were true we would have seen it fly by.
Ricki: go through hole, move right and down to kennel. Point out trap ladder rung to mac.
Mac: avoid trap and move left. Swap rings of attack with rings of defense.
Amad: drop leather and grab keys.
Kamau: move left to rat room. Stay out of sight of guards.
Idea is to get mac in place for exit next turn. Kamau is on guard watch duty and amad can maybe loot last bed if guards dally. Ricki can go back in the hole next turn.
Ring swap just ups Mac’s defense just in case.
“Amad: drop leather” at the posted note, next to the keys. If we want/have to pick up the leather later again, I would like to have it “before”/right of the scorpion and not “behind”/left, i.e. hope to pick up without being attack by/necessary interpose against scorpion.
Amadeusz is not on the same floor as the scorp now
“bottom floor of this room”, yes, right, sorry.
Mac: Head up and left, break the webs.
Kamau: Head left, interpose Baatle Battle. Have Shroom attack a Ladybaatle.
Ricki: Exit the hole and move left passed the Baatles to get an eye on the entrance. Move back to the Baatle fight and attack the Baatle. Have Daisy help you attack it.
Amadeusz: Head left and help the Shroom #1 defeat the Ladybaatle.

I’m greedy and want the plate and other gold ring, even though we don’t even have space or time to get it. It is in everyone’s best interest to ignore this plan and play it safe with Claud’s plan. The damage does guarantee those kills though, leaving behind only three Ladybaatles.

I don’t remember/know if anyone mentioned this but should we try to leave with the golem character? I know they are dead along with the gnome but they are basically a robot. Should we not atleast try to repair them at some point? Even if we fail we might be able to turn them into parts or can find someone who might be able to use a golem corpse for something.
Hey, fun idea. Why not. But we have no idea how heavy/enc that body would be. To try it, I’d suggest Golly to drop just one of her items, i.e. one of the two armours, and the body will fit into those infinite-sized slots. If we need to take that item back, we will already know the ENC of that dropped item and maybe we can shift items on other characters on that same turn. Otherwise, we’d waste a turn learning the ‘size’ of the body when we try to make someone pick it up.. But wait. Don’t we always get the info on items’ size on first sight? We did not get it regarding those bodies. I suppose that’s a show-stopper already? I’m still very curious about that idea, but since the thing was not called out to be an “item” with description/stats/weight/etc, I suppose it was not considered to let us “just take it” like an item :/ But we don’t know until we try, right? One of the most basic rules 😉
Turn 41 and the Commander hasn’t moved into the chandelier room. Either they went to check downstairs or they are recruiting the guards and dogs behind the closed door by the entrance.
If I’m not mistaken, that’s a 10 attack force + holy water. And we don’t know if the Commander entered alone (unlikely). I think we need to be prepared to fight the enemy on our way out. And to that:
Ricki: Move right, mend Kamau, them move back into the rat hole by the spider. Do not engage spider, keep Daisy away from the web.
Amadeuz: Trade items with Kamau. Give him the potion and the silver rings of protection, receive the longsword and the silver rings of aggression.
Kamau: Trade items with Amadeusz. Give him the longsword and the silver rings of aggression, receive the healing potion and the silver rings of protection.
Mac: Stay put and breathe.
I’m still waiting for the patrol to cross the chandelier room, and I’m afraid to reach for the exit without knowing the enemy numbers there. Next turn, we can top Kamau’s health with the potion and maybe case the Commander. I don’t think we should move to meet the enemies. Kamau and Amadeusz are in a good spot to fight, if they have to. And both Ricki and Mac are safe for the time being. If the patrol climbs the stairs going to the lower battlements, like the last patrol did, we can simply run for the exit.
We could have Mac go back through the rat hole and meet up with Kamau and Amadeusz, as the traps are out of his way. But I’m also afraid we might need Ricki there to point out the traps nonetheless. Will edit if there is a consensus on how safe it is to move Mac to K and A.
Plan that get Mac in position to leave plus last bed, deetz on imp AND extra safety healing in case we need to dip.
(Guard either return to entrance or stuck at rats)
Ricki: Leave hole to grit with Kamau. Go right. Go down.
Kamau: Go left and grit with Ricki.
Mac: Drop gold ring for someone to pick up later, go into hole, loot last bed, leave hole.
Amad: Examine the problems with your bomb goal, specifically our lack of rope. Would planting 1 or 2 provide us with partial rewards? Or did you see a source of rope substitute?
Future ideas(Assume worst case scenario of guards killing rats the previous turn, otherwise we have even more time for stuff):
If fight guards, we dogpile them in rat room.
If flee guards:
Mac: Go left, avoiding traps. Enter hole. Use action to move again to entrance and WIN!!
Amad: Go down to pick up gold ring, dropping leather.
Kamau: Stall guards
Ricki: Read imp note after showing traps to Mac
If you have time to edit,
Could you have Amadeusz take an action? On Discord there was the idea that maybe we could collect bedsheets to make rope out of.
Amadeus could drop his battleaxe, equip his shield, and check the beds for bedsheets, then move down to the basement.
Other than that I think this is the best overall plan.
Keep a lookout for patrol, search beds
Kamau: move towards Ricki, get mended, action-move back to join Ama near chests
Ama: use a shield to pass scorpion safely. Collect bedsheets in hopes of makeing an improvised rope (or at least a wick). Drop an axe to make space for what you got.
Ricki: pop out to mend Kamau, then return to your position
Mac: take a rathole, search the other bed, then crawl back
