Kamau easily dispatches the final rat. Four rat tails are left behind after the fight, which Ricki scoops up. Kamau takes the imperial longsword.
Ricki uses the sewer key to unlock the grate that blocks the pipe. It is now possible to exit the dungeon from this room at any time, the same as moving between rooms. She thinks about whether she has anything left she wants to do here, or whether she’s ready to leave… and try to convince Kamau to go with her.
I am copy/pasting this speech that I worked hard on earlier just in case. I dunno why that makes it look like the SCP foundation considers it privileged information. Highlighting works though. He clearly cares about injustice or he wouldn’t be helping you. Well, a lot of people in the world need a lot of help. The guards are clearly corrupt. People are starving if you’re any indication. He doesn’t need to lead a revolution or anything but he’s an extremely capable individual in at least one capacity and that means he’s capable of helping people. If he really feels bad about what he’s done, there’s only one way to make it right and dying won’t balance the scales. It won’t make the world a better place. It’s just the easy thing to do. To make things right, he has to get up every day willing to try his best to help and for that he needs to be alive and free.
Ok well, looks like it isn’t blacked out. Cool.
I mean, we definitely want to leave before the 40 turn mark, but we should try to convince kamau to come with first
Take this time to convince him to come along. Tossing my chips in on Ladon’s speech for now, hopefully unity will aid us here!

Ricki: Use the notes about the traitor + the guards’ ransom plan for you to show that the guards don’t care about your well-being as much as being greedy, and try to convince him that after you escape, the guards may go after whoever offered to post bail for you, and if it’s the one person who cares about you, then you don’t want them to get hurt. Ask him to come with you until at least you’re sure they’re safe.
Don’t appeal to his own well-being, since he doesn’t seem to care much for himself. Instead, appeal to his sense of duty/protection in helping a weak hungry goblin making sure nobody else pays for her mistakes.

I’ll also note that Kamau’s release on Turn 25 doesn’t actually say that he wants to stay behind like people say:
It’s Turn 14 where he says that some people belong in prison, and that we’d need some hint to convince him to change his mind. He might be willing to leave, just not to stick with Ricki.
Since LSN mentioned that the rat tails stack up to 5, and we didn’t seem to gain any rat tails in other parts of the dungeon/jail (could have been due to overly full inventory, though) and explicitly four in this area, it kind of makes me wonder, if something special would happen, if Ricki went up a room and got the last one, that she previously dropped there.
Maybe unlock an achievement or have enough meat on them to be able to cook them with the aid of a torch… (hey, if Shrek can appreciate and eat rats, why shouldn’t a goblin? 😀 ) and remove the “malnourished” status?
It’s risky, though, because we’d be cutting it close, time-wise. So is anyone else curious about that? I don’t want to waste a turn or two on that, if I’m the only one.
Kamau: grab a torch (unless you have to drop something else in order to be able to do that)
Ricki: try all keys that you have on the ball & chain on Kamau, maybe one of them unlocks it.

Ricki and Kamau should search this area for loot before leaving. There might be something useful among the skeletons.
I liked Grimm’s speech from turn 35 so I’ll paste it here, and hopefully Grimm won’t mind:
“Maybe show Kamau the note about extorting a higher ‘bail’ for Ricki? Like, he seems to be down on himself, but whatever else he did, the people who are keeping him here are actively using their power to abuse the population. More than that, they don’t care about the law. Ricki found the core of the fruit she stole, so it wasn’t returned, she was just punished for needing to eat, while the fruit-seller still lost out.
“Kamau’s execution might not matter to him, but it does matter to the guards. It’s a show of force, a way to scare people and keep them in line. Even if he doesn’t want to live, does he want to die for the sake of the guard, who so clearly do so much wrong? Why not strive to live, or even to die, out in the world making changes? Just by doing it, he might be able to take back some of the harm he feels he’s done.”
I would just add that Ricki should also show Kamau the note about his own execution, to convince him that by staying here he would just be helping the guards oppress people.
