Dungeon 7 Turn 24
————
Lohk heads to the balcony and uses her cane to mimic the effect of the staff of gravity, making everything in this room heavier until the end of the dungeon. It doesn’t affect her or the pumpkin down below, but if the crows show up they won’t be going any further.
After Ricki leaves behind her tomatoes, she and Macadamia return to the front of the loft and open a chest each. Ricki finds an interesting hunting bow plus six arrows to use with it, while Macadamia finds a heavy shield. The shield is also a really good find, but he has to leave it where it is for now because he can’t lift it.
Kamau drops the potatoes and corn spear he’s carrying, then picks up the cheese and climbs the ladder to the loft’s other room.

Feed the cheese to Kam’s mouse so it grows
It won’t “grow”. See characters page. It would give it Atk bonus, or can revive it. No upgrading.
Somewhere (a stream or something maybe?) it was hinted that feeding the rat we would have gotten from a previous dungeon enough cheese would cause it to eventually grow into a dire rat. People are hoping that holds true for Squirrel.
It was in the “after dungeon” stream of the tavern cellar. You can read up KingMarth’s summary here:

(4th post from the top, or second, if you don’t count the replies)
EDIT: fixed a typo.
Yup. But wasn’t that about the rat we didn’t get?
Does it still apply to Squirrel?
Uhm, yeah, that was about the rat we didn’t get. That’s why Jingles wrote:
However, seeing that LSN stated explicitly (in another after dungeon stream) that among the options of what we might fing in pet eggs there would be: egg specific pets as well as >>>pets that we missed<<<, in addition to the other skills that the rat we missed was supposed to have being the exact same ones that Squirrel has, I think this hope is not completely unfounded and count myself among the people holding said hope, too.
we are leaving stuff on the floor again.
we know that’s a bad Idea.
could we try using one of the chests to like, store Items, and keep them secure from another vandalism attempt?
It’s gotta at least be more secure than leaving them on the floor like that.
You mean the pile? Most of it are items we are willing to sacrifice. And it’s in the safest place place we can place it.
Kamau: Loot the chest, hang out with Squirrel.
Ricki: Drop your last lockpicks. Give Molly your axe, just for now. Open the remaining unguarded chest. Go down 1, right 1
Lohk: Move right two.
Mac: Trade your shield for the bigger shield. Go down 1 and right 1.
Reasoning: Setting up to get the rat chest. Next turn we’ll be able to fight the corn knights. We can take 1 out in 1 turn, with Kamau taking 2 damage. Second turn we take out the other, no damage. Turn after we interpose past all the nonsense, have Ricki and Mac go to the chest room and attack the squirrels, Lohk hold her torch in the potato room. Turn after that exfiltrate.
High investment, so hopefully a high reward?
“Open the remaining unguarded chest.” meaning: Loot that chest.
Lohk: Take the hay bale with you [if pushing is a free action].
Shouldn’t we try to put the (new) “weight = more than 1” items on Molly (she will only need 1 inventory slot for them)?
Yes in general. We’re having Mac grab that shield for now to reduce the chance of him taking damage if we go get the squirrel chest. We can trade back later.
Lohk: Wait till the crows arrive to see what they do then move back in.
Mac: Open the chest above you.
Kamau: Head up a room and interpose against the skeletons, and just the skeletons if that’s possible.
Ricki: Head up and rush past Kamau to open the skelie chest and take the stalkroach hit.
REasoning: Not a fan of going for the rat chest cause I think it’s too heavy of an investment and I think we need to get to stepping before turn 30. No good idea what else to do with Lohk besides keeping an eye on the crows to see what they’re doing. I think we should likely get stuff in position and inventory managed so we’re ready to run out of here.
ALso, Kamau won’t take skelie damage and likely won’t take stalkroach dmg cause its a trap not a monster attack.Even if he does take the damage, this’ll be good to learn. Lohk can heal him next turn if needed.
Kamau is in the top right room next to the unopened chest, below the two corn knights. If he goes up, he leaves the comic via air space. To go to the skeletons, he would need to go down a room, left a room, up a room. He would need a movement of 3 to do that (and be able to interpose afterwards).
