Intermission 6 Page 16

Ricki sells one of the group’s shields and suits of leather armour, as well as a spiked buckler and greatsword. She uses the money she gets, as well as the 8 coins leftover after the previous dungeon, to buy a pair of torches, another silver ring for Macadamia, two sets of thieves’ tools, and a pack mule.

With no renovations being done just yet, the various guests say their goodbyes and return to their homes. Lara, having decided to sit this dungeon out, waves as Ricki, Lohk, Kamau, and Macadamia leave the manor.

“Good doing business with you, as always. Let me show you your new work animal before we head for the dungeon. I left him munching on grass over by the wall, since I figured you’d want him. You always complain about not being able to bring me enough treasure, after all.”

“I don’t think that’s quite how I phrased it, but yeah, sure!”

“There he is, right over there.”

“So my choices are between this thing following me around, and a rat hiding in my clothes?”

“Squirrel’s already hiding under your hat.”

“So it is. You can take the donkey, then.”

“It’s actually only half a donkey.”

“Ah, that explains why its legs are so short.”

Paws assures the group that despite his size, the mule is capable of carrying fairly heavy loads and navigating a dungeon environment with no difficulties. All that remains is to assign him to either Ricki or Lohk.
