“I guess all we need is—”
“Okay Macadamia is gonna help me get some water okaaay!”
“Oh… okay?”
“Mac, you can’t tell Lohk about the gold!”
“Ummm… but why not?”
“Because we still need it to buy dungeoneering stuff!”
“But don’t you also need food?”
“Yeah, but we’ve already got a plan for that. After we do this next dungeon, we can stay on the property it appeared on! It’s a big place, apparently, so we can plant a garden and maybe get some chickens or something. We’ll have all the food we need then, but we gotta finish the dungeon first!”
“Oh, I see. Well, I suppose that makes sense.”
“But I don’t really understand why this is a secret? Wouldn’t Miss Lohk be happy to know she had a new place to live, and lots of fresh food in the future?”
“She WILL be happy!”
“But before that, she’ll be very, very angry, so we’re gonna skip that part and wait until we can take her straight to the farm.”
“I’m so lost.”
“That’s okay, I know exactly where we’re going!”
*sigh*
Ah, yes: hiding things from Mom. That always works out for the best with zero chance of failure and no repercussions! Bonus points for surprising her with “And we’re moving out!”
Never change, Ricky.
Ricki, that sort of reasoning has led to lots and lots of groundings, talking tos, spankings and BAAAAAAAAHs over the years, over many families. You’re just putting off the inevitable.
Hmm, I wasn’t under the impression that Lohk would be joining us. I2P9 mentions that Lohk takes care of a lot of people, we haven’t seen any adoptive siblings but we’ve also only been around a few days.
usually going to a farm is euphemism for death.
and im totally down for spending some Gold for dumb shit having no effect on gameplay.
For the first time, we have some excess gold, mostly because we finally have the essentials and getting more equipment would leave us with even less space.
I suppose we had 4 gold left over for the last shopping trip. That could have bought two steaks.
Still, I appreciate game resources being dedicated to game purposes. The Kobold Warrens was available to us as early as the third dungeon, we could’ve done about as little there as we managed out of everything in the Chapel, so our doing well is a way of seeing how we’ve grown. I do hope that the Estate won’t make individual encounters worse but rather make it important to split up, a group of four fully equipped characters should be able to shred most things so it’s more a matter of choosing what to do.
And this is the origin story of the master criminal, Mac the Uncomfortable.
