Ricki drops her two torches, which immediately go out and become useless. She then picks up and drinks the potion of healing, recovering 2 HP, and takes her dagger and thieves’ tools.
I was going to suggest moving the chest to grab the key, but if we can get Traitor to leave, he can just grab the key for us. So, Ricki: go back to the guy and ask him if that sword hilt is his
Oh wait! We’ll need the lockpicks to remove the ball and chain, so we’ll need the key for the door. So,
Ricki: Try to move a chest underneath the keys and grab it, dropping the rat tail in the process. We can pick it up when we come back, only the Torch is destroyed on discard.
We could try to just drop the ball on the floor? One broke hitting the dogs head, so a fall to the.. stone? Floor?
Worth a shot.
The pick could be more useful elsewhere.

I’d search the papers on the table then grab the bucket and try to get the keys standing on the bucket.

Are the treasure boxes light enough to be moved below the keys? I doubt it, becaus Ricki could not even carry all the stuff which was inside.Saving the thief’s tools for when they are really needed would be great.
She was able to push the table, too, and I very much doubt that would have fit into her inventory. So, I’m guessing she might be able to push the chest, too.
In fact, if you look here: https://dungeoneyes.com/characters/ you will see that currently her 5 inventory boxes are filled with: dagger, rat tail, leather armour, lockpick set, and the hilt of Kamau. My reasoning is: since there were two torches in there last turn, too, the lockpicks and the dagger weren’t picked up, but we could do that this turn, because we dropped the torches and freed up two boxes.

I wonder if we could use the rat tail to frighten away the other rats, at least the little ones. If possible, we should hang on to it until we get a chance to test that theory.
In the meantime, while we’re here, we should push a chest under the keys and get them. Then go up one level and quietly read the papers. If possible, take them along; we might need to set them on fire at some point.
After that, what about setting a trap for the guards upstairs? Here’s what I’m thinking:
1. Put out the torch on the bucket level.
2. Try to cut or break a couple of the rungs near the bottom of this level, or maybe jam the bucket between them, or even just soak them with water if there’s any in the bucket.
3. Push the table next to the ladder.
The idea is that any unsuspecting guards coming down the ladder would potentially fall two levels, while anyone who knew about the trap would be able to bypass it by getting off the ladder and onto the table, then back onto the ladder.
However, we should only do this if it can be done quickly and without attracting ANY attention. It’s not worth getting into a fight with three guards, three dogs and/or a rat. If it works, though, it could be a big help.
After that we should head back down to Cell Block A and try to free and enlist the traitor. Both of the known exits from this dungeon involve some serious unknowns (can we unlock the sewer grate? what’s beyond the upstairs ladder?), and having some inside information could be invaluable.
After that we should check out the kobold’s cell to see if it holds any friendly kobolds and/or secret exits.
Last but not least, where’s Kamau’s blade? My best guess is among the corpses by the sewer grate. Might be worth a look if we have time.

Ricki: (ACTION) climb the ladder to the next level (not the next room!), read the papers on the table and the sign above the bucket (if that is possible without causing the rat to attack). Go back down, push one chest underneath the keys, close the chest, climb onto it and grab the keys (drop the rat tail for now to make space).
Afterwards go down one room (MOVEMENT).
So if I understood correctly, picking up items isn’t an action. What about pushing stuff or reading stuff?

Let’s go show the sword to the prisoner and see if we can convince him to help us again.

Look look look, if there is a dog corpse, that can be used to escape. Back where like there’s a bunch of rats guarding the drain out, the body can be used to distract them while Riki breaks through with thieves tools, the main issue is that maybe a like crowbar is needed to get the grate off, just something to keep in mind
Great now go convince the guy
I’d say take a peek one floor up – what’s written on the sign, is there something in the bucket?
Seeing what’s written in the papers would also be great, if Ricki can get there without the dogs causing a ruckus.
